Do you like comedy shows?  what is your favorite?  My favorite comedy show is "Die Harald-Schmidt-Show".  For people who know Germany, the "Die Haral-Schmidt show" is very much the same as your "David Letterman".  Many laughs and no more sadness.

I don't think American comedy is funny. Friends may be someone's idea of comedy but it's not mine. I like the Daily Show and Conan O Brien.

The Daily Show is great.

The only American comedy I enjoy is the completely outlandish, ridiculous, no-moral-at-the-end nonsense that Seth McFarlane seems to have started (Family Guy, Robot Chicken, American Dad, etc.)

It's not classic comedy, but I find Metalocalypse to be one of the greatest shows ever devised.  It is both hilarious and brutally awesome.

Edit:  I just noticed two extremely embarassing typos in this post.

The laws of God, the laws of man, He may keep that will and can; Not I. Let God and man decree Laws for themselves and not for me; And if my ways are not as theirs Let them mind their own affairs. - A. E. Housman

It's probably a toss up for me between Fawlty Towers or Blackadder. John Cleese, Rowan Atkinson - who can choose?

The Brit. comedies are probably my favorites... Black Adder, Faulty Towers, Waiting for God, As Time Goes By, My Hero, and Red Dwarf (can't help it... this one makes me laugh out loud  :icon_geekdance: :icon_geekdance:), etc... And, one Canadian... The Red Green Show (I feel slighted when PBS fund raising interrupts this one).

On the American side... Project Runway, Top Chef, and now Top Design... I know, I know, they're not supposed to be comedy... but soooo funny.

Reruns of M.A.S.H.  Reruns of Benny Hill, he was hysterical.  I can't remember the name of the show but it was British, took place in a department store and was funny.

Oh and of course, the greatest comedy on earth.  Cable broadcasts of Congress in session.

That would be "Are you Being Served?"

I like Kids in the Hall, This Hour has 22 Minutes and most British comedies.

Awww, Bev...stole my answer precisely.  I would add Monty Python's Flying Circus.  The old days of Saturday Night Live would be up there, too.  Nice to see another old fart on here ;) .

OMG yes.  John Belushi as Samurai (Whatever), the newscast with "Hello, I'm Chevy Chase and your not", "Jane, you ignorant sl*t!", and the reports of how long Generalissimo Franco had been holding his breath.  (For you children, Franco was dead and as far as I know, is still holding his breath) ;D
