I was mainly talking about how they stick out, not quite if we see them well or not. Do you have actual experience regarding this?

No I don't think it does anything to the veins in your hands if anything it makes them more visible since your skin is thinner.

I do agree that hands, feet, shoulders  are not as important for passability, your face is the biggest indicator of your gender and your voice too.
Actually our son's pediatric endocrinologist (he sees them because he is type 1), mentioned that he could tell that our son had started puberty because his hand veins were starting to stand out.  Since then I have actually been observing people and yes, high T does seem to make those veins bigger.

Thus while you skin is thinner, they will not bulge as thick without the T.

Type 1?

Also, I know that T makes veins stick out more, but is this reversible or not, and to what degree?

I havent heard of anyone reporting that kind of change so i don't think so although i guess it is possible.

Sigh, that's depressing. I hate these veins. So they'll stay forever...

Do you think there's something to be done, like with varicose veins on the legs? ._.

And again, what's a type 1? o_o

I have no bulging veins at all in my hands now.

Type 1 diabetes, autoimmune condition where the body attacks the pancreas.  A type 1 produces NO insulin as opposed to type 2 where a person's body builds a tolerance to insulin.

Oh, okay. Diabetes; thanks.

And Jeneva, you don't have any now, but did you ever have some? To what extent? If so, how fast did HRT take care of them?

HRT made my veins stick out more (if anything). My hands look nice after I've kept them up for a little while... but as soon as I let more blood flow to them...

You might wanna look into sclerotherapy. I haven't come across a source saying it can't be done for ordinary veins?

Well...  I dug through old pictures trying to find a one that showed them, but my hands were so wookie-like before that it doesn't show so well.

I did to a degree, not huge bulging weightlifter type veins, but yes they were noticeable if you looked past all the hair.

fwiw, in my short time on HRT the veins in the hands have significantly reduced. They weren't very prominent to begin with, but one could still see them. Now, as I'm looking at my hands, my finger-tendons are the only thing seen on the upper part of the hands.

I have a sedentary job (driving), and do not work out. Skin is a LOT softer, too.
...I think for most of us it is a futile effort to try and put this genie back in the bottle once she has tasted freedom...

I've looked at a few sites and the averages mentioned are about the same
QuoteThe average human hand on an adult male is 7.4 inches while the average adult female hand is 7 inches. The average hand width on an adult male and female is around 3.1 - 3.3 inches.
Mine is 7" long and 3 and a quarter inches long. I always though they were big but apparently i got lucky. Im 5 ft 8 ish to put that in perspective.
You can't see any veins either, and i *think* there used to be some slightly visible.
I hope my hands do get smaller lol :)

Hands, feet, shoulder are extremely overrated in passability...

Fact of the matter is: It just doesn't freakin matter.

I get mam'ed 100% of the time and for the kick I just measured my hands just for you:

length: 8 inches
width: almost 4

I got 18 inches shoulders and my feet are like size 11 US and since I'm pretty short( 5'4) it should be an issue but it's really not.

I have to say when I started transitioning I was very self conscious of my hands and kept hiding them with my sleeves but these days are over now.

Thanks for your advice.
