n the spirit of April Fool's Day, I thought I would create a list of things that have happened recently or that will be happening soon which I wish were April Fool's jokes. These are not presented in any particular order — why create hierarchies?

— The posters of Transgender Barbie, advertising the fireside chat about gender identity and expression. While I am very glad that this conversation is happening, I was put off by the poster of what looks like Ken in a wig and a short skirt on what looks like a city street. For one, I am not quite sure what Barbie has to do with the addition of gender identity and expression to Swarthmore's non-discrimination policy. Second, transgender Barbie looks like a hooker. Way to perpetuate stereotypes.
