Finesteride/Dutasteride & Lots of Body Hair.

I y'all. Quick question, I have been on HRT for about 6 moths, Spiro and Estrogen.
I am seeing my doctor next week and have been cintemplating talking to him about adding finesteride or dutasteride to my regmine because I have quite a bit of thick and coarse body hair and dont have the money for laser on my whole chest/stomache and back-area, I am a 24 year old college student who can barely pay my bills as it is.

Has anyone here had any experiences with this and does it work? or is this something that I would just be wasting my time on? Alos, are both of the medications a form of Anti-Androgens??

Any advice would be amazing, thanks so much.

Finasteride and dutasteride are 5-alpha-reductase inhibitors, meaning they inhibit the conversion of testosterone to DHT (dihydrotestosterone), so they are not anti-androgens per se..

I have been taking finasteride and spiro together since I started hrt almost a year ago. That combo has worked for me. I use to have really thick, dark, and long back and chest hair, but has been drastically reduced. The difference is like night and day. My back has only a few small blonde hairs now, and my chest only has about half the hair it use to have although the hair that remains is much thinner and softer. It doesn't grow as fast either. I also had a small bald spot on the back of my head which has hair now, but I also used minoxidil 5% and took silica, biotin, and alfalfa to help with that. I'm not sure if the finasteride is doing all this itself since I've been on it the whole time, but this has been my experience with it.

Dutasteride has the same effects, it's just more potent.
