So I've known that I'm transgender for a very good chuck of my life. Today I finally feel like I'm officially doing something about it. I had my first appointment with a therapist. She was really nice and seems very knowledgeable. She's been doing this almost 2 decades and I'm not her only trans patient. We will see there takes me.

It's also very reassuring. I told her a lot about how I feel and what I want and she agrees with me that I'm transgender (I don't really need to be told that, but it's nice when a third party kinda verifies that you're not crazy). I'm going to be seeing her regularly. I also asked and she would be very able and willing to write a referral letter for me if and when it comes down to it.

I left feeling happy and with a smile on my face. And it's still there so far. The future doesn't seem so bleak right now. :)

Just had to share this all with you.

...I think for most of us it is a futile effort to try and put this genie back in the bottle once she has tasted freedom...
