I've always liked the word lummox. It even sounds like what it describes.

Antediluvian and apocryphal are great words for describing old leftovers in the fridge.

Antediluvian = "before the flood"

That is an old leftover!

Well, if you insist... "Donaudampfschifffahrtsgesellschaftskapitän"

Considered as one of those slightly 'longer words'. Google it :)

This is a name rather than a word, but it can fit right? Some parents in Sweden tried to name their kid Brfxxccxxmnpcccclllmmnprxvclmnckssqlbb11116. It is pronounced "Albin."

I know the other words because of my experience with ships, but "fahrtsgesellschafts" is unknown to me.

Two words I remember from high school English class, all those years ago ... Mrs. Snead would be so proud  :)

Onomatopoeia - a word that suggests its own origin, such as animal noises (i.e. moo, meow, ruff-ruff)

Portmanteau - a combination of two or more words to form a new word, such as "camcorder" or "gerrymander"
