hi im new here, i have been on hormones for about 6 months or so, and i want to stop taking them. i want myself back now that i know what its like feeling this way. my question is can i just stop taking them or do i need to ease my self off them slowly?
i know i should be discussing this with my endoc but i want 2nd opinions.

You need to ease off them and probably get some other HRT or medication to help your body begin producing hormones on it's own again.

You -need- to talk to your doctor. There is no second option here because if any of us are actual doctors, none of us would give you medical advice.

It doesn't necessarily need to be your endo, but this is the best option. Your GP would probably know what to do as well.

Chances are that 6 months of HRT were more than enough to impede your body's ability to produce healthy levels of hormones - which would mean that if it doesn't come back, you would be dependent upon HRT, and stopping your treatment will endanger your health, probably.

But you're not trapped into MTF HRT forever, eh. With your doctor, you can determine a follow-up to see if your body can get your levels back to a normal male's, or find a way to help it doing so, or start androgen HRT to replace the T you have lost.

But yeah, it's definitely not adviseable to stop on your own.

It's not what you asked, but I would like to add that if you had genuine feelings that conducted to starting HRT, it would be better to see a therapist and make sure you've figured yourself out entirely before stopping. Because both going back to feeling very bad due to increased GID and going on and off HRT repeatedly are unhealthy.

Not much.  You can simply stop taking the pills.  You aren't going to get sick or die.  Your body will adjust.

It entirely depends on what you are taking and at what dosage.  (Don't post those here.)
Trust your medical professionals.

There are some well-known symptoms to the sudden cessation of hrt.

And for how long you've been on HRT

Not much, but your mood may change back to how it was before. Six months is a very short time to be on HRT, so I doubt you will have any problems if you want to stop.
