It could be just about anything, a show of some kind, either live or on the TV, a music vid. etc.
The antics of friends, neighbors, family members, pets etc.  A bank robbery in progress?

I'm watching a show called Iron Neurotic Chef because there isn't much of anything on and it's better than listening to my loud neighbors

What are you watching right now and why?
The main things to remember in life are Love, Kindness, Understanding and Respect - Always make forward progress

Superficial fanny kissing friends are a dime a dozen, a TRUE FRIEND however is PRICELESS

I'm finishing up Kyle XY on Netflix just because I'm far enough along and I feel like i need to finish it even though it has gotten pretty boring.

pawn stars and its mostly for background noise and if something comes up interesting on it, I'll watch for a short times. Also, I just haven't bothered to change the channel from last night when I turned it on this morning.

Pawn Stars because of Jamie's post.  I fell asleep on the marathon last night and even was even dreaming about evil civil war monkeys while listening to Pawn Stars in my sleep.  I need some background noise too.

The Life of Reilly because it was in my Netflix instant watch queue and it's only available there for a few more days. Check it out. It's good.

It's a one-man play by Charles Nelson Reilly about his own life. A great moment is when he gets an interview with the CEO of NBC who immediately tells him there are no queers on television and the interview is over. Guess what. He was wrong. Horribly wrong.

I'm watching the stairs because I think my kid is up to something and I expect her to come bursting out of her room any minute. It makes me nervous not to know when it's going to happen. I don't like loud surprises. I should probably just go get her.

I'm watching House Hunters because I like to have HGTV on while I nap, and I haven't turned it off yet.

Though since the OP mentioned music videos, I think I have to go watch 212 by Azealia Banks. I really enjoy that song.

My son and I are watching Thomas the Tank Engine because we like it. I think his favourite character is Percy.
