My friend posted this on Facebook and it has gotten a mix of supportive and some really hateful comments.



Here's one of the hateful ones (from this thread if anyone cares to chime in, though I'm not sure if I have the link right. Facebook is so annoying.):

Sorry lads there is a diference between natural born wimmin and . Men acting out gender roles. This is like saying to me that I am not a woman unless I wear a dress make up ad all the fakeness that does not make me a woman. Tis not the clothes that makes the man or woman. Im sick of my natural birth rights being called dirty. Im sick of being told that these things do not make me a woman. If this was true then Les wimmin would have no problem sleeping with trans men! But Hay Guess What We Do!!!!! Do You Know Why? Because they are not wimmin....!!!!!! They Are Men in dresses seeking to invade our space our bedrooms our wimmins space. These Trans men have no respect for wimmins rights or natural born wimmins space. I respect there space all I ask is for them to respect ours. End Of

And what's with the "wimmins?"
I will agree witht the point that wearing dressess ≠ being a woman; you don't need a dress to be a woman, and you don't need to be a woman to wear a dress. But that's kinda missing point of the pic, isn't it?

Also, I love this. It's really cute, both the images and the words, and I love the message.

I suspect most folks here know this already, but "wimmin" is a way of spelling "women" without "men". There are a couple of other variations as well.

I actually shared it on mine 4 week or so ago.  It made the rounds of some of my friends.  We all thought it was too cute.

Her post is just offensive for the use of trans men to reference transwomen.

 The extremist minorities are usually really vocal like that. They always feel like they have to teach people... or they're defensive and insecure. It's really nothing new, although it is always amusing to see how badly a person can misunderstand something - mostly just for the fun of laughing at someone 'slipping on a banana peel', but partially because I enjoy their contribution to my numbers.

I have seen the comic on Facebook before... some weeks ago. It is absolutely adorable, and I love it.

I couldn't tell you how many times I've said the right thing about some issue and have been completely ignored because my mannerisms or my voice or whatever didn't "impress" the guys around. Only girls would listen to me, but they wouldn't be heard either...

I refuse to listen to bigots who use words that are not in the English language.  "Wimmin" is right up there on my list of hates with 'agreeance'!

I think the cartoon is great as well.  The second one is funny.  The WOMAN is an ignorant bigot.  Do we really need to make up new words to be bigoted.

I am looking for a gender comic that is just 1 page , I saw once before about someone who, throughout the panels kept on being transformed and stating themselves as said person or orientation, that's all I can remember, anyone have an idea what that was?
