Many congratulations everyone!

Another big step forward!
As for me, I always feel really bad reading threads like these and realising how long people in other countries are made to wait for such a fundamental and important change, as here in Scotland things are extremely simple. The only rules are that you can't change your name to something fraudulent, that your name must be pronounceable, and that you can't assume royal titles that you don't actually hold (so no Countess Eleanor, unfortunately...

). Aside from that, you're free to go by whichever name you want, male or female, as well as any of the Miss / Ms / Mr / Mrs titles. All you need to do is write up a simple document saying "I, <old name>, renounce my former name of <old name> and take on the new name of <new name>", and then sign and date it in the presence of two witnesses. In theory, you could change your name on the back of a paper coaster at a bar with two friends, and said coaster would be sufficient to get all your official documents changed. Needless to say I changed mine the same day I came out.
