I think he interests me the most because he has a very light approach but still takes away the masculine. any links to girls who aren't on his website's pictures would be appreciated.
Also your opinion on his scarring, forehead and jaw.

Email me or respond on here jessikalee.key@gmail.com

I did.

Not sure what I can say, 'cause I'm not quite happy with the results... yet... he told me I have to wait a while longer.

The "light touch" idea appealed to me as well, but now I'm wondering if I needed a little more.  I dunno.  I do still look like myself, which is good, but overall, I still look pretty masculine. :-(  I do like the brow stuff, though -- my eyes are really pretty now. :-)

That being said, I was very impressed with his professionalism.  He gave me a lot of confidence in him, even up to the moment I was wheeled into the operating room!

re: scarring.  There's no jaw scarring -- he does that from inside your mouth.  I have a small scar from the trachea shave which is still visible.  I have one directly under my nose, but it's folded right into the "seam" and it's hard to see.

The forehead is the most impressive -- I'm not sure how to describe it, but the incision is *in* the hairline.  Not above, not below, but *in*. So,  new hairs are growing right through and over it, and I doubt it'll be visible at all.

So... I guess that's a mixed review. :-P   He's definitely worth talking to, though.  Nice guy.

I went to Spiegel back in August. I specifically picked him 'cause my face was already in the androgynous/female range, and he has a good reputation for not fixing things that don't need to be fixed. I did a tracheal shave, nose job and brow ridge reduction. I'm very happy with the results.

The nose scar is entirely invisible at this point. The scar on my neck from the tracheal shave is healing really really slowly, so it's still red and fairly visible, but only if I stretch my neck out 'cause otherwise it's hidden in the fold of my neck. Once it fades, it'll be invisible. The forehead scar has faded to white, but it's the biggest and definitely visible at close range if you know what to look for. The way I wear my hair makes that irrelevant though. If I wanted to be obsessive about it, I could get transplants to cover it, but I don't really care enough.

So I'm assuming by your reviews you girls think his forehead and trachea shave are his best procedure?

You know, since I'm currently crying my eyes out, I'm gonna plant a stake in the ground:  it didn't work.  Period.  It either works or it doesn't.  If you have to squint your eyes or use your imagination... it didn't f-in work.

I've been told my face will continue to change in the coming weeks, but I just don't see how it can change enough to make me look like a girl.

Is Dr. S he a bad guy?  No, I don't think so... not really.  Though, I do feel like there was a little snake oil being sold.  He literally told me I'd be so attractive that I'd have to fend the guys off (or something to that effect).  That was an extremely dubious claim.   And I saw through it, too.  I asked him why he thought that.  I never did get a very good answer.  But, it's hard to call it off once you've paid all the money and gotten yourself in the mental framework to go through with it.  Kind of like a wedding, I guess...

I don't know if anyone else would've done a better job, but ... well... his job just wasn't good enough.

At least it wasn't one of those "butcher" situations.  I'm healthy.  My face isn't falling apart.  I don't look like a fish.  But, I don't look like a girl, either...

So... I dunno.  Not sure what the point of that is.  Just expect to be disappointed... or something.

It was about six weeks ago.  Yes, my nose is still quite swollen.

Thing is, that's about it.  Other parts of my face might "settle" a little, but I can't see how anything will change enough for me to actually look like a girl.

Anna,

I was very careful when I choose my FFS doctor and I have studied the work of most of the doctors. Dr S does good forehead/ hairline job. I don't think he is aggressive enough with the noses and with the jaws. And on top of it all I think he is overpriced for what he offers. He charges the same fees like Dr O and I think that Dr O is a real master of FFS, especially in his younger days. I am not saying that Dr S is not a good doctor, I have never met somebody with a complication from his work, but he is just not aggressive enough with the bone work. I believe that for FFS to be a success an aggressive doctor is needed, otherwise you will end up looking like a dude again. Dr S is a very nice guy, but I just didn't like his results.

I had full FFS with Dr. Spiegel and I highly recommend him. I have no visible scars, and no one who looks at me would ever think I was trans if they didn't already know.

He made a miracle out of my nose  :P

Yeah, I agree.

He does a very specific thing:  he removes masculine features.  And he's very good at that.  I've been amazed at how quickly I've healed.  I was also amazed that there was absolutely no pain after the surgery.  None.  Discomfort (it's annoying to have a splint on your nose...ugh).  But no pain.  He's very skillful.

But... just removing the masculine features doesn't necessarily do the trick.

The big thing I'd criticize about him is he didn't describe the results realistically.  And I really pressed him on it.  He said something to the effect that I'd be very, very attractive afterward.  And I commented, "I bet you say that to all the girls!"  And he replied, "No, I don't.  If I don't think I can help someone, I tell them so.  And if I think it'll only help a little, I tell them that, too."

Admirable, but it just wasn't true in my case.  I think he overestimated himself a little.

Not sure what you, as a patient, can do about that, but... as others have said, if you just need a "tune up," he's great;  if you need a full rearranging of your face, think twice about him.

I was going to ask you about your FFS the other day because I have a similar face, and couldn't really imagine how a nose like mine would be able to look post-op. Not that I think that it's gonna be the same, but now I have an idea. You look great, C.
Be kind to me,
