Is it true that if i want to go through with transitioning i have to wait to get everything?

i dont mean to offend anyone but if i do this i want to be me not some guy in a dress telling someone oh we arnt going to give you anything untill you prove to us such and such

isnt that damaging in some way basically forcing someone to do such? im so confused as to why you cant just get them as youre doing it?

help?

Well, I am pre-everything myself, but I've been around here long enough to know there are a number of transwomen here who started on HRT, facial hair removal, and voice coaching prior to transitioning publicly. (Of course, HRT kinda guarantees that there will come a point when the physical changes start to raise eyebrows, so you can't put off transition indefinitely if you stay on HRT.) I believe trans care in the U.S. is moving away from what I call the "dress test" and recognizing that the RLE is not about proving to the doctor that you need transition (he/she should already know this based on the progress of your therapy) but rather is about preparing *you* for what the rest of your life will be like during/after transition.

Definitely discuss this concern with a counselor/therapist.
