So, I feel like last week had me moving through some baby steps in my journey.  Firstly, I met with that Christian counselor.  I don't think it helped much other than the fact that I'm becoming more open to talk about my transsexuality. On Friday, I hung out with my friend Lauren all day.  We went to get a manicure (my first!) and then just talked all day.  It really meant a lot to me seeing as my wife and I don't really talk about me being trans (I think it upsets her too much). I've also lost about 27 lbs since deciding that transition may be in my future. Went to my doctor and just asked him about Finasteride. Now I have a 1 year prescription of a daily 5mg (I hope it works it's magic on my poor hair!). Oh, and I shaved my body (just for fun).  This is a really stupid post! I just felt like I needed to post because of how great I felt this weekend!  It's funny how a bunch of little things can brighten your day!

I am glad to hear things are going well for you. It is nice to get moving isn't it. I am also glad you have a good friend who will be there for you during this.

Everything in life is the sum of a bunch of baby steps.

Congratulations on moving forward; you've gotta be super pumped. :D

Aww, thanks everybody! It means a lot to me, too, to have people that I barely know telling how happy they are for me!  Hopefully, I will get to know you all really well!

Lol!  I didn't set out to inspire anybody, ShawnToShawn!  Have fun, though!  It had been years since I last shaved.  Now I can't decide if I'm going to keep it up or not... I have feeling that my wife will not like this development!

Well you could tell her your going for the body builder look for now, they also shave or wax all of their hair to show off muscles.  8)

hmm...ok then you can use the Olympic swimmers defense heheh , they are smaller usually and lean and also have no hair, so they can swim a tad bit faster.  ;D

Baby steps are good and are things to be proud about. Just think how paralyzed you were for years when it came to even thinking of doing those things, much less the actuality.

Unfortunately, wives are usually not to thrilled over any new developments or escalations. If done in moderation and slowly enough for discussions and adjustments to take place some level of peaceful coexistence can be had. Too much too soon often explodes in your faces.

Thanks for the advice, girls!  I think I'm gonna shoot straight, though.  It'll be rough, but I'm tired of living to the expectation of others.  I'm just gonna be me.  Either you are onboard or not...  I don't wanna be that way, but I figure if someone truly loves you, then it doesn't matter who you are as long as your true.  Sorry for the uppity rant.  Ive had a few drinks! ;)

Baby steps is good.  I had to slog through life like this.  I tried to transition earlier in the 1970's and told my mom.  I postponed my transtiton until 19 months ago.  After talking with the relatives, plus a cousin I haven't seen in 20+ years two weeks ago, and after I came out to all of them 18 months ago.  They already knew.  My mom had already told them back then.  It was no surprise to them.  My extended family has no secrets, I love them.
