The could be a cost saving on not needing urinals. Always useful in the company bottom line.

Well is it more hygenic to sit down. Since being on HRT I seem to spray more when urinating. In any case are we not girls ?

Once the "sit to pee" law takes effect and each male legislator (and member of the supreme court) finds out what it's like to sit down on a dirty toilet bowl because someone left the seat up, I think the "seat down" law will get a lot of traction. There will likely be mandatory minimum sentencing, with the full penalty to be assigned by a panel of sitting judges.

I find it interesting that people (especially in the comment area of the link in the OP) find this such an "affront" to their freedom. Oh noez teh guvment iz interfering! Personally, I don't see what's so bad about it. I don't see a huge need for it, but there could be worse laws in the world and I wouldn't find myself picketing anything to object to the proposition or the idea of unisex washrooms (which I think there should be more of, anyways).

On a side note, I'd kill to live in a country with a socialist, feminist government...beats the heck out of our current conservative evangelist government 🙁

The new toilets would only work when your butt sits on the seat then the top would open muha ha ha ha
