TransActive At Portland Pride Northwest Festival


TransActive Education & Advocacy, the Portland, Oregon-based national organization serving transgender and gender nonconforming children, youth and their families will be doing outreach to families and youth at the Portland Pride Festival June 16-17.

TransActive will be sharing information about all of their counseling and case management services, including providing referrals to families of trans adolescents and teens for puberty-blocking and cross-sex hormone treatment at the Pride Northwest Festival at Tom McCall Waterfront Park in Portland on Saturday, June 16 and Sunday June 17. In addition, they will share information related to their STAR Training educational program and other advocacy services.

Their booth number is 09, and is faces the Main Promenade on Front Street, near the Morrison Bridge overpass.

It brought happy tears to my eyes to see these beautiful kids and their supporters marching in the Pride NW parade Sunday 6/17/12. The crowd response was very warm and welcoming. These kids are our future. TransActive shared a parade slot with Basic Rights Oregon.
