Mandy,

I am feeling better now. Can you pass urine without the catheter? Are you on antibiotics? Sounds like you are doing okay now. Please keep us informed because we are very worried about you.

2 different type of antibotics cephlexin and mon???? urine does come out way it should very slow and burning but dr said will go away from swealing and cath being in so long... omg listening to all of u over the years the pain im in now was how i figured it would be all along (not overwhelming just unconforatable) and i know from reading other posts normal urintation will occur in time. had my first real breakfast today at hotel directly fromhospital. Picture this 38yr woman recding almost bald(when went to er didnt have time to get wig) in a lacy top(breat forms not in im only a small a look like moobs) with shorts painted nails and toes in sandels. lol i got a few thai double takes but didnt care i was hungry and it was free

Fantastic :)
What about dilation? Did you get to talk to the doctor about that?
  •

This is great news Mandy!!

Removal of the catheter, antibiotics and some level of pain management are huge.
Keep the pressure on the Dr to start dilation.  You cannot afford to let time slip.

Best Wishes,
Elaina

Yay! Glad to hear you're doing better, especially with the pain (and also they're dealing with the infection(s)...OMG I was worried about that; infections are not something to ignore)

Then of course there's the dilation issue, the going #2 issue, the not eating/very little drinking issue...the "in a hotel room, not a clinic" issue

etc etc....But now it seems to be on the upswing!  When you get back you'll deserve a vacation! Well...or something!

So nice to see you up and around a bit...Yay!!

I can also tell by your typing that your mind is a little more at ease since the pain level is less, that is very good!

Still...big hugs!!

That's part of his 'regime' and 'advice' he gives  his SRS patients...'start dilation when you're at home'= very far away on another continent.

I'm grateful for this account of GRS experience. But I'm so very much disturbed by it  :o. It certainly has factored into my decision making for my own GRS. I send my biggest wishes for quick recovery.

Let us keep up positive support up for Mandy.

I haven't had surgery as yet but if any of the woman who have, can lend her some advice that would be good. You can pm her privately; or if you don't have the links pm me and I will send them on.

Also I think any links to support sites for post op woman she can contact in the USA could be good?

Mandy I'm not sure  where you live in the USA but if you can let people know so post op woman may be able to let  you know of urologists in your area. I suspect you may need advice from them.

Mandy if you wish to keep that private fine. I respect that but if you wish to  let me know where you are in the USA, I can do a match up service for people in your area. If any post op woman who wish to help can pm me with what state they are in I can act as a matching service.

I'm in Australia so I'm not much use anyway

OK Mandy you'll be home soon. Keep going we are all here for you and you are sounding better.

Hugs Sister

Hola Mandy

i am verry glad to hear you sound a little better, i also had catheter issues, i was unable to pee for 3 weeks into my post op and it is really painful yes and prone to infection. As for dilation it is maybe wrong to go against the surgeon advice but you really should be dilaing verry soon after surgery, this can no be stressed enough to you and ideally they should of shown you also the correct way to do this.

I was here in susan for many years, left and now only have a long post count and unable to pm, however if someone is able to supply me an email i am verry happy to scan my dilation manual i had off Dr Suporn and put into a pdf thingie and email it to you or someone do that for me

Atleast oyu will have some good ideas on how dilation works as it is a verry good manual as oyu can expect off Suporn clinic.

Please keep the meds up and rest all the time and eat well, i hope oyu are going to the toilet much better now, i know the hell of that so oyu have my full understanding.

Stay happy "hug"

That is what I thought I just didn't want to say it. You must dilate in front of him and see howmuch depth you have. Once you are far away you can do nothing to him.

I've been using Skype to chat with Mandy...she enjoys it, and is recovering better, even getting up a bit and walking around.  ^-^

Amanda H is her Skype name...and she likes OJ and bagels, so please remember to bring some when you visit.  ;)

LOL...it feels really good to chat with her (and in Thailand! Thank goodness for the Interwebz!), and she's told me how much it means to her to be able to talk to someone.

*hugs*, all.

Cindy: I  live in evansville, Indiana :-)

i recieved some very detailed dialating instructions so i am going to attempt tonight and see what i can do.

pain seems to be lessining but swealing hasnt gone down much at all. in fact it might be worse.
i did stick to my plan as best i could and being as sugery was on tues morning i made it 7 days until i had my first cig. i know this is a very very very stupid thing to do but it helped my emotional stability. i limit myself to one every 6 hours so four per day it gives me something to look forward too i guess. i know this is stupid but it is a mental crutch for me.

I'll hold off on the anti-smoking lecture until you can get a good spanking

OMG, what a nightmare I just had...I'd dreamed that "I remembered I'd used male pronouns" in my previous post about Mandy and Skype, OJ and bagels etc.

Got up in a flash and checked the computer... :o

Everything was good.  :)

Damn, now I'm awake. Well, awake-ish.  ::)

Good morning!

And now, back to bed. Good night!  :P

Without actually seeing the capsule, it is hard to say what it is.

It could be anything for acetaminophen to an anti-depressant.  You would have to post any words or numbers that are on it.

I hope removing the packing helps.  I know how painful surgery can be.  While I have not had SRS, I have had abdominal surgery.

Not that it matters but it's Tramadol.
