Can anyone fill me in on this:

I'm going to Mtl later this year or spring. I don't have a date yet though.
I emailed the clinic to ask about the aftercare costs and when they need to be paid.

All I received back was:

QuoteHi
You will have to pay yourself  1930.00 $

No signature of who responded and no information on when payment is due.

I was surprised to see that figure because I've heard the aftercare was $1000 from a few sources.

So I'm wondering what others have paid recently and when the payment was due as in deposits in advance etc.

Thanks in advance.

Suzanne probably sent the email considering how short it is, that said I've not aware of aftercare costs unless you're staying beyond the week or whatever the $18k CAD covers. I'll ask someone when they wake up about it.

Thanks Flan - I'm just trying to get organazized with the money thing ahead of time. I'm sure I'll find out once the interview approval happens and I book an actual date. I've just heard Montreal Clinic has been booking for the fall right now, and I thought I'd have till spring to get my dinero ducks in a row.

We just got back from Brassard. Aftercare costs are all included in that total price, unless something special comes up (like staying an extra day?).  We paid absolutely nothing more except travel/preparation costs for me (the wife) - the package does include a night or two in a B&B beforehand and travel to and from the hospital from the airport/train station for the patient. Incidentally, the aftercare was fantastic; a minimum of 2 nurses on duty 24 hours a day, meals provided, laundry service, and regular checks from the doctor including on the day of discharge. It was hard to imagine someone being discharged 2-4 days postop, looking at the people in the residence at that point! Plus the convalescent residence and grounds are gorgeous.

He also required a $2000 deposit within 21 days of receiving a confirmation letter to guarantee the date and then a $2500 deposit 8 weeks before, with the balance due a month before. The confirmation letter arrived in late February when she'd requested to reserve the date in November, though, so there's some time before they actually expect any money.
