With bras and things for that area, it's not just a matter of your chest and waist sizes. You need to measure right under your breast, too. The Breast Form Store has a pretty good page on how to measure and choose a form: http://www.thebreastformstore.com/fitting-breastforms.aspx

Hi Jackie,

I have been blessed in a number of way, one being I have my own set of medium 'B's'. I do however associate with many different TG communities in Sydney, and one thing I have noticed particularly is that women that need to use forms, generally buy too large a size, naturally drawing some unwanted attention.

My theory is that, when we look down on our breasts, we see quite a different perspective to what others would see. So what might look absolutely natural from another persons perspective looking head on at us, may look somewhat small to what we would see, looking down on them.

Therefore, if you have a current band size of 35", I would suggest not going anything larger than 38" round the bust, approx equal to a 'C' cup, in order to maintain a relative feminine figure, avoiding the "Dolly Pardon" look. Do your best to find a store that will give you a personal fitting. That way, you'll receive there professional assistance in the bargain.

You may wish to experiment first, using balloons and bird seed. That way you can make breast sizes 1", 2", 3", and 4" to see which works best for your overall figure. You may need 2 bras for the exercise. A 'B' cup and a 'C' cup. Make sure you wear the  same top each time, and you may wish to photograph from several angles to give you a better overall perspective of how people in the street will perceive you. Dolly Pardon or Miss Twiggy, hopefully something in between.

Enjoy and have fun with it. It's you. Hopefully HRT will do the right thing by you. Keep in touch.

Be safe, well and happy.
Lotsa huggs
Catherine

You may want to go to a specialist store that fits prosthesis for woman who has had breast surgery, that way they can recommend / fit the form that best suits your body / life style and show you the wide rage of bras and tops available that are designed to carry them, The ladies that use to fit me years ago were great and telling me what looks natural for my body type showing me different shape forms and the weight differences, in the end I had 2 sets of C's one set lighter that the other to suit different activities.

I didn't desire getting fitted, but I took my own measurements according to the site Lyric suggested, and I ended up needing a 43 bra size.  I decided on a D cup size and it just so happened to work out, rounding out my wide chest size, and looks good looking down as well as posing in a mirror, just enough to give them that "pop out" look, but nothing grossly disproportionate.  Additionally, people I've shown them too have said they look professional and well-fitting to my frame.  I may splurge on another set later on if I decide to actually get fitted in the future.  For now, though, it works for me, and I could afford it, so why not.

I'm 5'8" and have a 39-40 band size.  I asked to be fitted for a bra fitting at a local lingerie shop, and they were happy to do so and most professional - and I was in guy mode.

The fitting revealed my starting point to be 44B.  That size fits fine, though my B cup forms don't quite fill the bra cups.  I bought a set small  of breast enhancers at the same shop and put them behind the forms and it works perfectly.

I also lost a bit of weight since the fitting so I bought a 42B bra and really like the fit.

On the recommendation of a friend, I ordered my forms from the Breast Form Store and couldn't be more pleased with the forms and their customer service.  Because forms are expensive, I called them for advice.  They have a certified fitter on staff who will work with you and she's great!  She had me remeasure so she had current numbers and based on her recommendation, I went with the B cup size.  I think a C cup would be fine, but I was more comfortable with the smaller cup and love the profile they create, very much there, but slightly understated.

I think I could easily pull off a C cup, and perhaps I will sometime in the future.  For now, I'm a B.

Best of luck!
