Quote from: MrTesto on August 01, 2012, 11:58:11 PMSo glad to hear he also does DI. (And takes insurance up front!) Hope all you guys are healing up and speedily!Does Rockmore have required minimum time in therapy, or just a therapist letter, or what? I've heard that Melissa Johnson requires evidence of three months minimum of therapy. With more guys getting hormones through informed consent (no therapy requirements prior to starting T), that can be a barrier.
Quote from: Paul on August 05, 2012, 07:02:52 AMI'm with Foolthecrowd. I have to wait a year from starting T, but that's my insurance company's requirement. As much as it stinks, its been 3 months already so a year will be nothing and if theyr going to cover it, I'm game for waiting.
Quote from: fooledthecrowd on August 05, 2012, 08:42:14 AMNot sure what insurance you have, but if it's CDPHP, it's possible to get the surgery before their one year T requirement. My friend was only 6 months on T and he was still able to get top surgery. He had his therapist write a letter to CDPHP about it and they approved it. I can ask him for more info if you're interested.
Quote from: Paul on August 08, 2012, 04:09:40 PMYes it's CDPHP. My therapist mentioned that people have been able to get in sooner, however with my paid leave fron work, schedule wise (yes some of my work schedule is already booked through the beginning of next year) and a training I have to do for work the earliest I could do is April anyway so waiting the one more month for May isn't a big deal. Thanks though! I actually have an initial consultation with him on the 30th to get specifics ironed out; especially for work. I'm SUPER excited!
Quote from: fooledthecrowd on August 08, 2012, 05:15:22 PMAh, I see! He's a really nice guy. I'll be honest; when I first saw his picture on his website, I thought he kind of looked like he'd be one of those stuck up and not so nice doctors, but he's completely the opposite. I was happy to discover that. Good luck with your consult! My surgery is on Friday. I'm pretty excited over here as well.
