Can Transgenders see any equality?

While reading through a yahoogroup's Daily Digest of Transgender News it was once again saddening to be reminded of those Trans people who scream for extraordinarily special treatment for themselves while ignoring the battles for Transgender and Gender Variant people to just be treated as wholly equal with everyone else.

In Knoxville many local residents deal everyday with fear of discrimination based solely on being identified as Transgender. Whether it is someone already employed or is seeking employment, while seeking housing or retaining housing, while dating or during a marriage, the examples go on. As reported previously the City of Knoxville has recently added "gender identity and expression" to the protected categories for City hiring, while State law bans extending those new protections to any government contractors.
