We saw Brave yesterday. Had to go to three theatres, first two were sold out.
Basically, about a tomboy who wanted to play with weapons, parents wanted her to be all sweet so some prince would marry her. Movie ends with it ok for her to be butch.
Hasn't that been done before? I mean, isn't that basically the plot of Mulan, and a half dozen other animated and live action movies?
How many Disney movies have we seen about a boy who wants to raise babies and dress frilly while his parents want him to go out and fight, where it ends up OK for the guy not to be macho?
If there was a movie like that, would it sell out even one theatre?
Shows how far we still have to go in accepting gender variance, doesn't it?
