After many years of thinking this would just be a phase, and that I wouldn't go any further with it besides online.

I told my mom that I was having gender identity issues.

She was fine with it, and she told me that she always thought I was gay, so I explained to her what I was really having issues with. She hugged me and said she would love me no matter what.

Like, this has filled me with such emotion that I told someone, I don't know if she actually understands it. I chose to tell her because I have known she always thought i was gay, so I wanted to clear it up with her.

I am still just in shock I did this, it kinda just came out.

Also, does anyone know if GID is genetics? My mom told me an interesting story that before they got married my dad had a phase where he thought he was a woman and started to cross-dress.

*huggles* I'm very happy that everything went well for you!

As for it being genetic, I don't think there is any real way to say one way or the other, I'd like to think it's possible but who knows. It's could also just be a general apple and tree thing maybe, regardless =] Yay good job!
