I live in a big island where about its 0.5 million residents tend to be isolated from the mainland, geographically and culturally, to be conservative. Many people here paid attention to me when I began to live here about 2 yrs ago. Nowadays, I feel less people stare at me.

Yesterday afternoon, I went for a spot inspection for envrionmental assessment with local government officials and environmental committee members. As it was so much muggy, I wore like this:

An employee from the private enterpirse took the photo for me. Other committee members, who served together with me for the local governement during the past 2 years, commented like "Your fashion sense is special", "I wish to wear those short pants, but I am too big to wear it" or "I first thought you were a lady". I was a little bit surprised they accept me so well. They should be very conservative people. A middle-aged woman served drinks there, paying attention to me. A member at his 60s asked her "Is his body figure so much adorable? You have to envy him."

In the same attire, I had dinner with my family and the family of the kento master of my kids. When the kento master offered to have dinner last week, I initially thought that I should be in dull attire because I worry that mates of my kids may tease my kids.

But suprisinlgy the master and his wife did not show any special reaction to my appearance. Just chatting about education of my kids. Most people here always mention my long hair when meeting first time. They did not mention it, nor even my girly bracelets.

A conclusion is that I worried too much.

Peky, thanks!

I think I become exuberant this week. I applied blue manicure to my toenails. The last time I wore manicure was 2005. I usualy wear flat sandals for women at my work place. Certainly some people will mention my toenails, which became ugly by regular running and minor toe injuries.

Your lifestyle never ceases to fascinate me, Barbie. From your photos I only ever see a woman. I suppose your voice and your size convey masculinity such that you seem different in person. I would think it would be very easy for you to present yourself as female full time.

BTW, I saw your blue nails in another thread and loved the look. You hand look beautiful with nail color.

Lyric,

Sure. My voice is low. I notice that taxi (cab) drivers or workers at gasoline stations watch me again or say "pardon me?" when hearing my voice. I guess, as they expect high-pitch voice, they first do not understand what I say in low-pitch voice. Then I say again, they get it. This is interesting.

A few days ago, my little daughter, at age 8, complained about my wearing one-piece style casual at home, but her mom explained that it is special taste of her dad. She always mention new fashion items of her dad. Actually I wore skirts and manicure when she was a toddler. At that time, she did not think it was strange. As she learns in school, she begins to tell the differences between men and women.

Yesterday night, after dinner at a restaurant with my family and my friends, my elder son complained on my exposure of the belly button as the top was too short. He asked me to wear long top, or to decrease my girth size further. I replied "Is there anybody who still has slim belly just after eating fully?" However, today I think I should increase my typical daily running duration from 40 minutes to 1 hour.

This photo was taken about 7 years ago. At first, I did not understand why my son picked the tree to show to me. As he is so much playful, I later realized that it was a gesture of offering flower. He is thoughtful, and I guess he understands me well far more than I expect.
