This isn't so much a thread as it is a piece of encouragement I would like to give to FTMs who are in transition and maybe have less than 100% confidence in their beach bodies. Regardless of whether you are going to the beach fully clothed, in a tank top, or in a speedo, I guarantee that you look a HELL of a lot better than any of the guys I saw at the beach today. My work had me going to the beach with about 100 college students, mostly male, to help them socialize and make new friends. I live in Japan, so that means that I spent my day around about 100 shirtless men, aged 18-22, and I found every single one of them repulsive. Why? They looked so malnurished, I wanted to give them all a lard injection. Remember: human beings look better with a little bit of fat. So if you don't have washboard abs, don't worry, it just means you're probably not a douche bag. If you do have washboard abs, I sincerely hope you're not a douche bag, anyway.

Anyway, just thought I'd give some encouragement. If you go out to the beach, try not to be self conscious about how you look. Concentrate on having a good time, and think of any lingering gazes as sexy time looks, sizing you up ;)

I don't really think that shaming a certain body type is a good way to go about making somebody feel better about their body. There might also be some guys on here with the body type you described as repulsive.

Any body can be a beach body.

This.

I really could care less about having a typical beach body. I'm starting to like my body as T does more to it. I don't care as much about my weight.

The whole point I was trying to make is that you don't have to have a "perfect" body to go outside. I wasn't trying to offend anyone, just trying to be nice. No need to get offended over something which was pretty clearly tongue in cheek :D

PS: I am also one of those guys who falls into the "too skinny" category, which I guess I should have mentioned :P

Justjoe, this post made me smile. :)  I have seen some pretty terrible beach bods, too - hopefully after I get top surgery I can turn some heads! lol

this ost amuses me as my cousin insists on wearing a shirt on the beach because he is so skinny and self conscious. im no longer super skinny although most of my friends still havent noticed that they still poke fun at my skinniness i have muscle and some fat now but i was in the "unhealthy" low bmi range a good portion of my life. as is my little brother he has like a 15 bmi and he eats a ton he just has a monster metabolism and very much healthy.
