My T levels shot up (and my E shot down) when I got taken off Cyproterone (an anti-androgen) a couple of months ago. So now my GIC doc has decided to put me on Decapeptyl quarterly injections - he wants me on that instead of Cyproterone, which is potentially not so good for the liver, though I had no problems in the 8 months I was on it.
Decapeptyl (generic name Triptorelin) is a GnRH agonist that does the same job anti-androgens do, but by a different route - it stops T production rather than suppressing T's uptake by the body.
I've been looking up Decapeptyl and it comes either as an injection or something called an 'implant'. Nowhere have I been able to find out what that implant is like, and what's the difference between having an injection and an implant as far as efficacy goes.
I'm worried because having an injection work at full efficacy for 3 months seems unlikely without it dropping off in strength when it gets near to the time of the next shot, and having just been through 2 months of life back under the testostyranny, I don't want to ever experience that again...

<--(pretty much what it made me like... with a side order of

)
Does anyone have experience of Decapeptyl implants or injections, and whether their T fluctuates or doesn't towards the end of the 3 months??
