Jim Collins Foundation»How to Apply

http://jimcollinsfoundation.org/apply/

The current grant cycle will be open from April 16th through August 10, 2012.

Welcome to the Jim Collins Foundation application process. Transition is not one-size fits all. Not every transgender person has a medical need for identical procedures. Clinically appropriate treatments must be determined on an individualized basis with one's physician. If you and your doctor decide that surgery is part of your transition and you need financial support either because you do not have insurance or because your insurance excludes these medically necessary procedures, please submit your application for consideration for a Jim Collins Foundation grant.

The Jim Collins Foundation makes selections for grants based on a combination of demonstrated financial need and level of preparedness.

From the FAQ:
- Our current grant submission deadline is August 10, 2012.
- The number of grants awarded per cycle is dependent upon our success in fundraising.
- Due to our nonprofit status, all grantees must be U.S. Citizens.
- Due to our nonprofit status, all surgeries must be performed in the U.S.
--------------
Two grants were awarded in the previous grant cycle.
History, despite its wrenching pain, cannot be unlived, but if faced with courage, need not be lived again.
