I was only 5 or 6 years old when this came out and it affected me profoundly.  I picked up the words to the song upon hearing it the first time. I couldn't get it out of my head as I grew up. It was always one of the songs running through my head.

I remember how good this young (to me older at the time) woman looked dressed in a sack!

Wow, this brings back some memories that had lain dormant for a few years!  Thanks Susan.

Heh, it was the same for me.  I couldn't remember the exact words to the song, but it was nice to hear again.  I remember feeling insanely jealous of her since I knew what I was physically and hated it.  Well, now I honestly do enjoy being a girl. :)
