Really need some help/advice
I recently purchased my first binder, underworks 997 and truth be told its pretty good..however i have a problem.
I'm not exactly large chested, from the scale on the underworks website i'm a size 36, somewhat between the small and medium size. I decided to get the small because i wanted the most effective in terms of reducing my chest to nothingness and i'v also began working out a lot and losing quite a bit of weight(still more to go!) and i didn't want to get the medium and have it be too small for me in a few months.
All in all the only problems was getting it on, but once its one it didn't feel too tight at all, didn't restrict my breathing and wasn't too uncomfortable. My main and only problem is this:
From the front view, it does a bloody good job making me look perfectly flat and my life would be heaven if people could only see me from my front view for the rest of my existence. however the side view is another issue.
once i turn to the side the female chest is still perfectly obvious. It's basically reduced me to look like i have a size a or b chest, and its definitely not flat. I'v tried adjusting, layers etc but it still doesn't help. Like i said, the front view is thumbs up, but i know once people see me from the side they can tell, which makes me feel extremely uncomfortable. I don't need my chest to be 100% flat, but flat enough for people to not question i am male, even if i ook like a guy with manboobs. unfortunately i don't look like that..i look like a guy with boobs. female boobs. Its horrible.
I'm hoping there is a way of adjusting the binder to make this better, maybe i am not wearing it exactly the way it should be worn. I'v tried adding layers but that actually makes it worse for the side view in terms of exaggerating the distance between my neck and chest.
I'm wondering if there is a way of making this better, a special way of adjusting it that i haven't heard of?
I have seen larger chested men with binders and they look much better than me, so it cant be because of my medium size.

I'm starting a new college(sixth form here in the uk) and i'm beginning as male, with my fathers support.  My 'uniform' consists mainly of a suit/smart clothes, which is how i'll be dressed most of the time which means i wont be able to manipulate the way i dress in order to help with things and it will be impossible for me to begin to live as male with this problem. i'm stealth and don't want anyone to know and they most certainly will if i cant resolve this before then..any help or advice would be so appreciated.
Is there another binder i can get that anyone could recommend? that would be more effective than underworks? or something i can use 'with' the underworks to bind me better?
or is there a special way to adjust/wear my binder that will flatten me a little more?

I suspect the problem may be, for both of us, that we're just being a bit too paranoid about it. We both seem to be carrying extra weight, and if we didn't have slight moobish lumps we'd just look odd.

But is just a hypothesis.

"chesticles" is now my favourite word.
The problem makes my neck look shorter, which emphasizes it unfortunately, i hope i can find a way to flatten it just a little more.
I'm thinking of using two binders maybe...buying a medium size to wear on top of the small, not sure if its a good idea or not.

Maybe it's time to get a smaller binder?

When I was between sizes, I would use the larger size first and put the smaller one over it. I suppose this practice stretched out the smaller binder just a little more than it otherwise would have, but it worked pretty well for me. Then when my size stabilized, I started buying nothing but smalls, and I bound with two of those.

However, I was middle-aged, and my bumps had definitely started breaking down and sagging. They were quite large, but the sagginess helped. I pushed them down and to the sides. I also tended to wear largish t-shirts or do a bit of layering.

If yours are pretty small and dense, there's only so much flattening you can do. If you have the funds, you might experiment with two binders or a different (tighter) binder or a smaller size.

Can you post chest pix? Maybe you're just hypersensitive to how you look.

I have the same problem with the 997, and I also find it lets your chest 'wander' around quite a bit when your running or something.

I would DEFIANTLY recommend getting a tri-top from under works (I think it's the 983?). They're the same price as a 997 and have three layers of that spandex stuff instead of two so it binds much better. It is also SO SO much more comfortable because of no hip/belly binding and its so much cooler, although that's not a really necessary feature in the UK!

What Arch said...I read on here once to try pushing them down and under your armpits within the binder and low and behold, it worked wonders. It does require mid-day repositioning to some extent though, which is aggravating.

definitely going to try the re-adjusting thing and spending some more time working out, hopefully i can get rid of all excess weight/fat and that should make it a bit better long term. Fortunately i can experiment with a few smart shirts my dad owns and test out re-adjusting to make me look as flat as possible, get a clearer image of how i'll look in my uniform/suit.
worst case scenario, i'll save up for a tri top and wear that on top of my 997

What the other guys said about readjusting works wonders, but I usually pull them up and off to my armpits to get a more pectoral effect.

Definitely layer up too. I put on a binder, then a tank top which I tuck in to my pants (it helps to smooth things out), and a t shirt over that to get the best results. Put on a button up over that and you should be golden. Don't wear too baggy of shirts either because then more people wonder what you're hiding.
