Girls, what happened with your obliques as you progressed with HRT? Did they slim down or went AWOL? I'm curious about that... *shrugs*
For me atleast, every thing has started to get softer and in addition I've gained a little more felxability, so basically they've been thining. Still there, just not as defined as before.

I'd actually like to see photographs of those people who claim to have hips?

I'm not saying I have hips, I am just saying I have the measurements that I posted earlier in this thread.  Posting pic in Avatar thing.

I am still uncomfortable with what I look like, especially in photos.  I really hate photos.  Fortunately I can imagine I look better the rest of the time or just put it out of my mind.

When I look at this pic (avatar), I see a gorilla.

If you are referring to your own avatar I would have to disagree. You definitely have a feminine figure, not gorilla like at all. I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between your body and that of a ciswoman from that picture.

It means 'you're not important enough for me to acknowledge your struggle.'"

I agree with Maid of Orleans! it's pretty damn good! it seems to be working on you going by the pic. I'm envious of you! the best so far! your whole body is the right rounded physical female fat distribution and your body doesn't look male at all!

I guess your success is your inherited genetics? also what meds are you on?

Oh yes, the "ideal" .7 ratio.. I get the idea of it and all, but it's also a load of.. you know. If your ratio is .7 you might be on track, but it doesn't mean you're "ideal". You might prefer the narrow waist/wide hips look, and so a <.7 ratio would be more "ideal". It's all a matter of how you want to look. I adore tiny waists to wide hips, and so the ratios I favor typically are <.7. Someone else might prefer something else.

Doesn't the "ideal" ratio mean that it's what men tend to find most attractive on average? Because that leads to the question, what about those of who don't care about being attractive to men? I will definitely want validation and support from the important men in my life but I am attracted to women and the group of people whose respect I want is women. I don't need a .7 hip ratio for that.

(of course, being attractive to A man doesn't require any particular ratio either...)

Fat redistribution has given me some hips  :)

I'm not quite as curvy as I'd like to be but the combination of the loss of muscle mass and development of boobs has given me a fairly feminine shape and not to brag, but I feel that I have a fairly good shape compared to most cis women of my age  :)

I just wish I could lose a little more of this belly  :P

I was standing in front of a mirror, about two and a half feet from the mirror when I took the pic.  The camera is just below my butt.  So there is a chance my hips look a little bigger because they are closer to the camera lens?  Not sure how mirrors work or if that is a factor but thought it was worth mentioning.

Yes, because I transitioned late it is likely that it is mostly genetics however I did have a fat transfer performed by Dr. Pat in Thailand a couple of years ago (I think he just tried to make my butt rounder).  Not sure how much difference it made.  As far as HRT I probably take less than most people, normally I take .625 Premarin once a day but about a month ago I began taking two a day.  I doubt my body has changed any.

I had SRS in 2004 and have been on various dosages of estrogen and progesterone for about 12 years now.

PS, thank you for the comments, nice to hear. ^_^

Well, so far it's you that wins the hips/waist 'price' - for me.

I have taken quite some photos with my cell, in my own setting... it all sucks and I cannot really see what I'm doing.

But as I said, this far you win the price for the under 60s! maybe under 50s also, actually I'd be little surprised :)

Now! Anyone that is willing to come out OVER 60! As myself (66) and only 2 years on HRT --- before I suggest I win the Paul Bunyan price? Or was that 'Paula'... :)

PS: so much for 39" bottoms...

PPS: I guess I'll need surgery to improve any of this... had a quote for tummy tuck (Lipectomy) Thai Baht 220'000 US$ 7'000.00 .... anyone?

I've always had huge hips even before hrt. I got my mom's side of a more curvy body, which would be horrible looking if I wasn't transsexual lol. But my hips measure 39" but my waist is 24 so you can see why I don't like them =p. But to be honest it's a part of feeling womanly when you have hips or boobs. Just  my two cents =)

If you ask me, 39" bottom is no big deal. A size 36 (UK) - BUT a 24" waist sure is!

24/39 = an almost unbelievable 0.61 factor...

I'll post a little update...I lover wearing capris, but I have one pair I haven't worn, because they apparently are "hip hugger" types where one needs to have hips or else they'll fall down. Didn't like the idea of constantly pulling them up, so never wore them.

Here it is about 6 months+ on HRT, and I can wear them! They still slide down a bit, but not enough to flash ass-crack, so I am ok with it...but the fact they don't slide OFF over time is pretty awesome!

Hips? Maybe...more likely a little fatter in the upper thighs, but hey I'll take it!

39 inch hips on a 24 inch waist? Wow. I know a cis woman who has 37-24-38 measurements (she runs an amazing blog about bra fitting and clothing, Thin and Curvy-I strongly recommend everyone who wears a bra to read her blog), but I always figured that a trans woman couldn't have measurements like that because of skeletal issues. You got some curves right there.

pretty

I'm hopeful about getting some hip fat but not delusional...

Pre-HRT my waist/hips were 27-28"/35-36" and it's about the same right now 3ish months in. But my only real changes have been breast growth so far anyway. I never had a problem with hips wearing pants and stuff but embarrassingly I can have some slight problems filling out the butt ::)

Actually my only real problem with my hips is the hip contour... the fat there is pretty even but I have a wide pelvis so the contour from waist to hips has like... a big valley where jeans sit. I really hope that will fill out.

Sure 24-39 are crazy measurements I would like to see.
I've just started HRT and I've got 34.25/32.25/40.35. Still 20 pounds to lose.
This is ok, I guess.
