For those of you who have been keeping up with my soap opera you know i have had a few minor difficulties. I am was dialting last

night and had ummm good thoughts? >:-) The sides of vaginal area swelled up painfully and took awhile to go down.. Could this be

erectile tissue that is still just swollen? I hope i dont feel pain like that every time i get aroused that would be rather uncomforatable.

I know i am only 6 or 7 weeks post op but swelling is still bad enough i cannot sit on anything without my donut if i dont use it the pain

is very bad. Sorry to be so blunt but this damn vagina didnt come with an owners manual :-)

They never did.

It does not take courage or bravery to change your gender.  It takes fear of living one more day in the wrong one.~me

Sounds like erectile tissue. It was uncomfortable in the beginning for me too. I feel like it´s getting better now. I´m just about 6 months post op and I had very hard scar tissue development which in case of erection (for me it feels like that but now luckily without that huge thing) was stretching all those scars all around.
I was very scared of my vagina and all that was happening since I also had some serious complications as recto vaginal fistula and urethra opening closing due to my scars tissue development and a lot of pain and dilating with that.
These things unfortunately take time, but it gets better.

Stay strong!

It is that same tissue yes Mandy

Dr Suporn tells patients to have no sexual thoughts for atleast 3 months as this additional swelling etc can pull stiches and cause further issues and after all i went through in recovery i can understand why.

It is good advice to just concentrate on dilation and worry about the sexual side much later. I know it may sound hard but it can be done being as most sexual stimulation is mental just turn off the switch or perhaps develop a headache when you are dilating

I heard about the not-having-sexual-thoughts-thing before and it is something that really worries me. I just don't know how I will manage to do that? I have been on a high dose of Androcur for more than 2 years now. After a couple of months of starting hormones the doc told me that I would loose erections and arousal soon and I was like yeah right.. I don't think I could have penetrative sex (but then again I never could or wanted that before hormones, so..) but I can easily get erections and I can (and do) orgasm 4-5 times a day.

Anyway.. What are things I can do to not be aroused after surgery? Besides anti-androgens (which obviously don't effect me) is there any medicine I can take?

I've been on Androcur for 18 years and it hasn't had much effect functionally. I had my T levels tested as I was worried this was the reason. But no, my T levels are lower than a post-menopausal woman, so I'm not sure there is anything further that can be done unless I'm hypersensitive to T. Wow, can't imagine not being aroused for a few months, let alone a week. I'm hoping to have SRS next year.

From personal experience, you won't have a problem.... after surgery, for two months or more (esp with my doc suporn), your crotch is a bag of stitches. You will be dripping, sloughing skin, bleeding, throbbing, itching, stinging, peeing on your legs, dilating twice daily with a thick pyrex rod that delivers NO pleasure at all, breaking down scar tissue as you do so, constipated, hopped up on pain meds, showing the whole mess to the doctor and the nurse/office staff daily, most likely hairy because shaving/epilating will not be easy for a while.....

If you can even dream about thinking about sex through that, kudos! But if that isn't enough, the clit area has a lot of stitches too... when it swells, as in from sexy thoughts, the stitch ends poke into you. Best description came from a girl on here.... she called the whole area the Iron Maiden. Negative reinforcement at its finest!
Blessings,

D
