hey i was wondering if anyone has had or knows anyone who has had the mansculpture procedure that Dr. Garramone offers? I saw that there was a thread on here talking about it but I was hoping to be able to actually talk to someone about it, and that threat was from a year ago and I can't get a hold of the person who had it. anyway let me know, thanks!

I was curious about this too. Thanks for sharing, Stewie!

I had it done.  Watching that video, I am really confused because there were no signs of the compression Dr. Garramone has you wear for 6 weeks unless that part was just not included.   Was the most annoying 6 weeks of my life.

what kind of changes/results did you experience from the surgery? if you don't mind me asking, of course.

Sorry, I missed the post.  I don't visit every day so lost track of it.

To be honest, my results may not be the same as others because Dr. Garramone takes the time to make your mansculpture personal to your body.

I wanted some of my thighs done because I have huge thighs, but he said he could not do it because majority of my thigh is muscle and not much fat there. (Guess my genetics and playing a lot of sports just curse me there)  He recommended my outer hip area, the area below my belly button and my butt area because I carry a lot of my weight in my mid section.

Since the surgery, I wish I could say my butt was smaller, but I have always had a big butt and seems most guys have no butt...but oh well, it is what it is.  My outer hip bone area is straight and my area below the belly button is pretty flat.  I think he took most of the fat from that area anyway to be honest.  There is a limit of 15lbs of fat that can be removed (this is true for all types of lipo) and when I asked him about how much he would remove, he told me he would do the 15lbs.

Dr. Garramone will ask for pictures from you from front, side and 45 degree angle to help him with the consult.  Once you are there, he will confirm the decision he makes with you during the consult and if he sees something he thinks would be better, he will consult with you then during the pre-op.  Day of the surgery, he will mark the areas he plans to work on so you will look like a playbook from a football game.

After the surgery is done, you will have to wear a compression garment (under armor style pants) and a compression bandage for the mid section that is really annoying!  In fact, I don't even think my chest surgery was painful because all my annoyance and pain was where I had the lipo.  I am not going to lie, it was not a pain like you are dieing, but you are always uncomfortable because you have to lay a certain way, you can't get up by yourself and when you do try to stand, the bending you do when you sit is right where the lipo was for the most part.  When you sit, because you are bent in the lipo area it is uncomfortable unless you recline, then not too bad.  That is what caused me the most trouble.  The first two days I could not even sit on the toilet because bending hurt and compression vest was tight. But it gets better because your swelling will decrease.

Would I do the mansculpture again?  Yes.   Was it worth the extra money?  I don't know the price of lipo in general, but for me yes.   The price will vary depending on how much lipo you want/need done.   I have a thick frame build, so for me it was great to have my hips be straight instead of poof out some.  Mine ran about $3,500 give or take.

You also have to remember that lipo is not instant. Depending on how much you swell and how long it takes your body to respond to the changes, you may not see the results you want for a few months.  Mine took a while to really see, but even my girlfriend was amazed.  It also took about a month or so after I got home to have to wear a different size clothing from what i had for the surgery.

Lastly, you are allowed to decrease the time you wear the compression bandage over the 6 weeks.  You will most likely still need to wear some sort of compression undergarment just because it really is easier to wear it under the bandage and keep from chafing or a rash or if nothing else, just makes the sweating more bearable. Plus the compression garment helps with compression even when you are not wearing the compression bandage. (I call it a bandage, but it goes from mid chest down to right above the crotch)

Hope this helps and just remember that each mansculpture is tailored to the individual.   Mine was spread out over my mid-section, but my hips alone was worth it for me.  In the area he did the lipo, my measurement for my hips was down about 6 inches once the swelling was gone and bandages off and to the point where I think the results were showing best.  My results may not be the same as yours or anybody else but I am happy to know that Dr. G takes the time to do what is best for me.

On a semi-related note.  Since my surgery I have gained weight. Some good with muscle growth, some bad... but in the areas of the lipo, there is almost no additional fat from when I had my surgery.  I was told by Dr. G's office that fat cells have a harder time returning to areas that have had lipo, and I fully agree with that.

Sorry the answer was longer then I expected, but I wanted to pass on as much info as I could.  Feel free to ask me any more questions you may have.  I am super happy and impressed by Dr. Garammone, his staff and the surgery center, so happy to talk about any of them.
