Hi I am working on my second book and I was just wondering if anyone could give me a good link for the steps that have to be taken for FtM transition?

Andy, you're missing the whole point of this site. We welcome people here, not brush them off and send them to Google. Lilly, someone will come along with helpful advice, just hang in there. Hugs, Devlyn

Hey Lilly! Not sure if it will help, but I will give you some of the sites I used to gain information when I was first learning about transition.

http://www.ftmguide.org/
http://transhealth.vch.ca/resources/library/tcpdocs/consumer/surgery-FTM.pdf
http://transhealth.vch.ca/resources/library/tcpdocs/consumer/hormones-FTM.pdf
http://www.ftmtransition.com/transition/transition.html (I didn't find this one good for details, but it pointed me in the right direction)

I have more, but I can't find the links right now. I found Hudson's (the first one) to be incredibly valuable. Hope it helps. I'll try and dig up the rest of them. I switched computer recently and some links got mixed up in the transition. Gotta love new switching to new hardware!

The steps for FtM or MtF are both established by the "World Professional Association for Transsexual Health(WPATH)" which are followed throughout the world. You can download the document from http://www.wpath.org/publications_standards.cfm.

Hope this helps,

In my experience, the so-called "FTM experience" varies widely. So take all of these timelines with a grain or two of salt.

Good point. Seems like I am way off on certain things and right on for others. So, take that into consideration for sure. Experiences seem to be all over the place.

The basics are almost always the same when it comes to how to actually get the hormones. But the experiences I imagine vary greatly!
I like the suggestion about looking at youtube videos! They are SO helpful! I am gonna link you up to a few Youtube users that I think are VERY insightful and their experiences are definitely ones worth sharing.

http://www.youtube.com/user/ElectricDade
Dade is married. He was in a lesbian relationship before hand and his wife documents her experience as well! And now they are pregnant! I think they are a great couple and they have a lot to offer. Especially since she gives her side of the story!

http://www.youtube.com/user/uppercaseCHASE1
Can't go wrong with Chase! He was on T, then off T, then on T and now he's off T! His channel shows a lot of good stuff on how we evolve and how sometimes we aren't 100% sure of everything!

http://www.youtube.com/user/ClosetTransgender
He's a great guy who once did not want to take Testosterone and is not on it! So his experience is also a good one to look at!

http://www.youtube.com/user/TheDarkerFiction
I think his name is Cameron. Definitely look into him because of the fact that he's so young! He's 16 and has his name changed already and is on T. He's also Asian-American.

There are so many more youtubers that are great but I think I gave you a good group of diverse individuals! Good luck! It never hurts to be pointed in the right direction!

Just FYI, Forest (ClosetTransgender) has been on T for 5-6 months now. He's one of my favorite youtuber's because he makes videos about topics that are not often discussed. He's also somewhat older and that's a nice change from all the teens on there. (Not trying to imply anything, I'm only 20 myself, but youngsters are a dime a dozen on the internet and it's cool to hear from more than one age group about a shared experience. Dade is also great for this, I really dug his latest video with the Spiderman doll, lol.)

Also http://www.youtube.com/user/skylarkeleven is a great and positive role model for the community. The first video I ever saw of a transitioning man was this one:
