Hello all!!

My name is Ty as of right now. I live in Colorado!:) I'm new to all of this so you might see me asking a lot of questions. I've always questioned my gender. I started at a very young age. I always thought you can magically change your gender and live the life you always wanted. Growing up I admired the Disney princesses my favorite was Pocahontas I loved the way her hair flowed through the wind. I always played with Barbies and never played with boy stuff. I loved dressing them up and thinking one day I can look like this. Well.. That changed once I went through middle school and high school. I had a pretty rough time. I was very distant with friends. I have told my best friend and she is very supportive. I'm very fearful in telling my family because I'm very close to them. If they disowned me I don't know what I would do with myself. I'm glad I found this site and cant wait to talk to all of you!

Hi Ty, :icon_wave:

Welcome to our little family. Over 8031 strong. That would be one heck of a family reunion.

Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams.  Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.

But remember we are family here, your family now. And it is always nice to have another sister.

And be sure to check out these links ( MUST READS )

It does not take courage or bravery to change your gender.  It takes fear of living one more day in the wrong one.~me

My best advice to you, Ty, is interact with the other members here, many of whom have walked in your shoes.

Playing with Barbies and imagining you are Pocahontas doesn't necessarily make you TG.  But it is a good starting point for discussions with a gender therapist.  They can be clues to your gender image.

Hi Ty,

A big Aussie welcome to Susan's family. It's good of you to drop in and say "Hi". Hope you like it here, and you stay for a while.

There is a mountain of information, resources and friendship waiting for you here, you just need to jump in and start talking.

Just beware of what you wish for. Here at Susan's particularly, there are a lot of family members here that have had their dreams come true. Not that is not bad by any means, it's just the price you may have to pay. In more ways than one.

Looking forward to hearing more of your story in time to come, but in the meantime, be safe, well and happy.

Lotsa huggs
Catherine
