THE STARE

Should I wonder
what you see
When you and your stare
are directed at me?

Do I care
what you think you know
When you stare
at what I care to show?

Should it matter
what you think?
Or do you
think at all?

I do not think
I care to care—
Your stare has
told me so.

My stare cares, for I see a smile.
A vision I see. Yes, it's worthwhile.
Inviting and warm, it lets me in.
To a life I should know. One that gives.

Wow... my poetry sucks tonight. That's what I get for just ripping it out of my... blank mind.

Does not! It just is coming out prosie. I really appreciate the sentiment Cindi! If we ever get together we could picket the library carrying signs that say "Free Verse!"

P.S. for instant poetrization, I google translated your verse into arabic, then spanish, then back to english, thus:

QuoteSquinting my care, to see a smile.
See see. Yes, it's worth.
Cozy and warm, allowing me to it.
For life and I want to know. One who gives.

See, beautiful ideas.

Now that is fun! You'll have me going all night! Shame on you! I love to write poems. They are an inspiration to me when I can't (or won't) work on my fiction.
