So I started playing Minecraft again.

This time I'm playing on a public server. It's a different experience than other MC servers I've been on. I'm on smp5.empire.us, name is ChiChansPinkBird. They are running some custom code that allows them to provide a good play experience. For one, each day you log in, you get a Rupee stipend, and you can use Rupees to buy items from the server, or from other players. If you want to give $5 a month, you get more stipend. $10 or $20 gives larger stipend, and more benefits.

Each player is given a 60X60 block to call their own. If you pay $10 a month, you can have two. $20 a month gets you 4 plots. You can do anything you want on your 60X60 square, but the ground is JUST dirt. There are no mobs in the Town instance, and no damage/hunger/whatever. If you want to mine, build things, or explore, there is a separate instance called the wild, you can type a command to get there from anywhere in town. Anything in your inventory stays with you. You can also go straight from your home to The Nether, also with a command. There are safe areas in the Wild and Nether where you can tele back to your house.

Right now, I'm building a massive underground house, and have been doing some really serious exploring of the Wild. I've got a few friends on, but it would be nice to have more friends.

If you don't have minecraft, and want to try it, you can try it out for free on Mojang's website, minecraft.net. If you like it, the game is $26.
