I didn't even know it was possible to get actual hip growth if you start HRT a lot earlier than that. I thought it was all fat redistribution.

It's because many of the bones in the body haven't fused together yet. They all do, by about 25.

So, if one gets on HRT early enough, the theory is that the body will transform the bones into the female equivalents. (I'd think the face bones would also adapt to a more feminine form.)

That, and to prevent the changes from T in the larynx/voice box, is a pretty good argument for early HRT, if it's known a person is TS.
...I think for most of us it is a futile effort to try and put this genie back in the bottle once she has tasted freedom...

So I have 7 years of more HRT until I know *for sure* that all my bones have fused. That's crazy, my endo didn't tell me that, he just said past 13-14 you can't really get hip growth  :-X

The early puberty years are where the majority of growth occurs, as I understand it. Time will tell...Good Luck!

I know that for me, even if my hips didn't get better, I'd still want HRT as early as possible. Heck, I'm in my high 40's, and I have a pair of capris that wouldn't stay on my "hips" until about a week ago...now they do. Fat? or hips? Don't matter, if there's *something* there that reminds one of hips, I'm happy!

Another member here once mentioned that certain yoga exercises might help... I never looked into it, but it doesn't sound so far-fetched.

Best of luck either way.
I ain't scared... I just don't want to mess up my hair.
