I am sick of being torched by right wing nuts!

OK if I'm expected to follow all these old testament rules (most taken out of the context) or burn in hell, I wanna see them starting bonfires on their alters and tossing doves into it (young ones of course) after they wring their necks and drain the blood.

Leviticus 1:14-17

14 "'If the offering to the Lord is a burnt offering of birds, you are to offer a dove or a young pigeon. 15 The priest shall bring it to the altar, wring off the head and burn it on the altar; its blood shall be drained out on the side of the altar. 16 He is to remove the crop and the feathers[a] and throw them down east of the altar where the ashes are. 17 He shall tear it open by the wings, not dividing it completely, and then the priest shall burn it on the wood that is burning on the altar. It is a burnt offering, a food offering, an aroma pleasing to the Lord.

There are dozens of equally absurd passages in that same chapter they always quote to attack GLBT people. The same way they used the bible to promote slavery, to demean women etc.

Yet of course they ignore the others for some for reasons only they can answer.

I personally believe that people created religion as a way to control the masses and make sure that they have power. That's all I'm willing to say.

Say hello to the face of arrogance and pride. The thing is no one can do the sacrifices any more as both the tabernacle and temple are gone along with the ark of the covenant. Not one Christian I know of gives their tithes and offerings to the temple or the Levites. Not one goes to the temple three times a year for the main festivals. Not one I know of rests their land after six years etc,etc

They forget one major thing that if they want to have people obey the law that way the law MUST be obeyed completely in it's entirety. They can not leave out one tittle of it and it must be obeyed to the letter and spirit of the law. It's the only way for anyone to be justified by the law. If they truly understood this they would not use the law that way.

Thankfully we are justified by grace and not the law.
