Being asked for a date for the first time in my life at my club's holiday potluck from a woman who I haven't seen at the club functions for quite a while.  I accepted without hesitation.  We exchanged phone #s and email addresses.  She knows that I'm TG.

  OMG!

Awesome! Hope the date goes well!

So, still in boy mode tonight, I went to a casino. I couldn't find a bathroom so I asked one of the workers where the restroom was. His reply was "the ladies room is right around the corner". Very happy right now!

I just got my ears pierced! Yay!

Don't forget to rotate them from time to time. You don't want the skin to attach to the earrings as it's healing.
Answers are easy. It's asking the right questions which is hard.

Be positive in the fact that there is always one person in a worse situation then you.

Now the hard part. DON'T TOUCH THEM. Except with very clean hands. The first set I got I manged to get infected and had to go on antibiotics. I got told off by my doctor :embarrassed: for being a naughty girl ::)

That must have sucked! Sorry that happened.

You are the second person to tell me that. I am going to have to ask the guy that did it. He told me to not touch them for about 2 months.

I'd take the women's collective advice here Brooke! I had ear piercings with 3/4 carat diamonds which I wore for two years. They first give you little studs to get you through the healing process, but if you don't give them a few turns each day the skin will stick to them and it's not fun getting unstuck. Trust us on this!

I'm happy DSM-V got ratified yesterday. May GID be consigned to the history books.

That must mean that being a germ free adolescent has paid off?

Your guy was right. You shouldn't have to worry about skin adhering to the jewelry. I got my ears pierced at a large gauge a couple of months ago, and didn't rotate the jewelry for a month. Even with the much larger surface area of my jewelry compared to standard earrings, nothing remotely resembling anything sticking together happened.

Yep, I was told to turn them regularly, especially when putting antiseptic on when I got my second piercings. My first ones I did myself back in the eighties and I turned them then too.

My piercing guy knew his stuff. He said never touch them or play with them, and leave the originals in for at least six weeks. What made the big difference for my ears, was he instructed me to soak each ear lobe in a semi-sterile saline solution for at least two minutes a day. It helps the tissues to heal and slough off gunk without introducing any bacteria to the mix. Similar to how surgeons will have you care for a deep tissue wound that needs to be left open.

My guy said that instead of soaking them, I can spray them 8 times a day with saline solution for the same reasons you listed above.

I emailed him today, and he said not to touch them, and don't rotate them. Just leave them alone for about 2 months.

Today, I'm being made happy by wine, cream cheese cânapés, and honey parsnip crisps, whilst pretending to be an Italian Renaissance wizard with my friends  ;D.
