Other than the height though it is hard to say. Being tall can be annoying but as others have said it is not the end of the world.

You should try some stuff to look better though. I can say I have seen some crazy transformations on this site though (I sure lurked long enough). Looking in the mirror it can seem impossible that you will ever look how you want to but really, have a look around. There are some amazing before and after pictures if you search them out you will hardly believe your eyes.

Either way nothing is going to happen by magic. You gotta experiment.

Well, here goes.  I said I'd post something, so be honest and let me have the barded arrows.  I don't have a lot to work with at my age, but the challange is going to be great fun.  At least my wife and sister in law said I have a lot of my mothers features.  So the only difference over the years is that I had red hair at 30 and gray now.   :D

Well your certainly don't look like an old man in that picture!

If you could get a better hairline I think you could look a lot better.

Dear All,

I read this thread since many months. I am currently not sure about myself and I will maybe make the decision to start transition this year. Currently I do not take hormones and I never hat a surgery. I have to wear a wig as a woman. I think about a surgery to lower my hairline which currently looks not good.

Before makeup:

After makeup (I still have to learn and I have to gain experience. I was out as a woman only 6 times until now).

What do you think? Do I ever have a chance to pass as a woman? My largest concern is that I am not recognized as a woman in public and therefor I do not got out often which makes my very sad.

Kind regards,

Lara

I'm going to see the sylist that my wife uses.  She's real good with thin hair and may be able to do something with a wig or extension for bangs.  Need to cover the bald forehead, and I'll just color to match.  I have a couple others photos I took after waking up a little little more.  But I;ll only post one.

Thank you.  Kathy

So no comments on me? Not even a "there's not enough FFS in the world to make you feminine."  :-$

Would love some comments as to my pass-ability down the line. This pic is me now, pre everything, with a minimum of make-up, just a eye liner, shadow, little mascara. And oh yeah, my facial hair sucks. I can't get rid of the shadow entirely because my skin is too soft for razors against the grain, I just end up drawing blood. 2nd laser session in a week yay!

Hi Sam!
You look nice enough, I don't think I'm as qualified to make any real good assessments about you as others would be, other than the fact you have a good shaped face for a FFS with a potentially successful outcome. I think any good FFS specialist can turn some of the most masculine features around. Don't get impatient, I'm sure someone who is more knowledgeable about FFS will give you a better idea of what might be done.

Oh, Sam.  You look good, and HRT is going to do wonders.  You're features are similar to a girl in my group when she started.  And she's stunning now.  Enjoy the journey.

Yes you have a nice face and your jawline lends itself to the direction you are going, I told Sam I am not qualified to make any good assessments but you will probably want to have some FFS perhaps the other women will have something more constructive to say.

@Sam79 & Lara,

You both have very feminine faces and and if you two need FFS, then 75% of all Cis women do as well.

Paigeme id say you pass already. I'm about at the same stage as you with my voice and hair and only a month ahead on hormones.

For fashion id say start with some basics and find what you like. Things like camis and shirts generally are easy to fit so can be ordered if you aren't up to going out shopping yet. I had to measure myself to order my jeans when I first started and luckily I got my size one the first try.

Using the wrong pronoun means 'I don't recognize you as who you are.' It means 'I think you're confused, delusional, or mentally I'll.'. It means 'you're not important enough for me to acknowledge your struggle.'"

I finally decided to post a couple of pictures of me on this thread. I'm 28 and I'm pre-everything (except for a couple of laser sessions). In these pictures i'm not wearing any makeup.
I'd love to read your thoughts... do you think hormones will do the trick?

Thanks!

I always suggest to those new to transition, to look at the "before and after" topics.

A lot can happen with hormones to the face and body.  Unless you were the GEICO caveman, I would never say that you have no chance.  Even then, FFS can re-make you.

Laser is a good start.  And you don't have strongly masculine facial features.

Hormones should help, but attitude and smiling more might do the trick on their own.  Though electrolysis would probably help a lot too.

Also, a more feminine hairstyle could do wonders.  I love the curls, but it's a little raggedy to be taken as girlish in its current state. Also, thinning the brows will help.  I'm kind of hesitant to post here, though... since part of me tends to think "passing" is overemphasized, and so much does come down to how you present yourself in the real world, rather than 2-dimensional photos. I think just about anyone can find a look that works for them, and reduces the chances of misgenderings... and looking at transition videos showing people at various stages, I've seen before pics of transwomen I'd have never guessed would look so wonderful after a year or so on 'mones.
