Sounds like it's time to become the avalanche Jayne. You've had some tough times as of late, it seems that you can't afford to be the turtle. Must be nice getting free electrolysis though, we have to pay out a small fortune for it on this side of the pond!
I've spent an hour in tears due to this, I spoke to the practice manager about these problems & he was less than helpful, I had checked with the gender clinic & they confirmed that they sent 2 copies of the letter asking for funding to be requested on the same day, one to me & one to the GP, the practice manager said "well of course they'll say that".
I informed him that I've been told I need to be full time by June for my next GIC appointment & this mistake on their part is putting that in serious jeopardy, I informed him that I'm being treated for depression & this worry is certainly not helping.
I then raised the point about my name change & asked why they have not changed my name, he said I have to write a statement about my reasons for a name change but all my research has said that I should only have to give them my deed poll & if they don't comply I am entitled to take civil action so he hung up on me.
After phoning relentlessly over the next 30 minutes he finally took my call but this time he tried to be polite & sort of helpful, probably because I informed him he was on speakerphone & I had a witness present. He couldn't give a satisfactory answer as to why they've had my deed poll for two months & have not contacted me about having to write a statement but had an answer within hours of me threatening civil action.
He still insists that I have to write a statement & that my deed poll is not enough, he gave me the address to write to, it's only a 15 minute walk away so I'll go down in person in the morning & have a word there, I will insist that they show me in writing why my deed poll isn't enough when all my research says otherwise. Then I'll go to the citizens advice bureau which is round the corner & see what they dig up.
If the CAB find that someones telling porkies then I'll find a higher authority within the NHS & complain like crazy about this practice as no-one should be treated like this.
You are right that getting electrolysis for free is good but I wish I could afford to go private because I'm sick of battling the pencil pushers
