Life.. The whole box and dice.. I'm over it. I'm tired. Tired of having no money. Tired of being judged because I'm trans. I'm just tired of life.

My eldest daughter verbally abused me this morning.

She suffered a minor injury at school a couple of days ago and she asked me to write her a 'sick note' for P.E. this morning so that she won't have to run around. But the problem is: I haven't come out to their school yet because my kids are mortified at the idea of people at school finding out that one of their parents is transitioning. So I'm in a bit of a Catch-22 here, because I ain't using my old name and the kids don't want me to out myself by using my correct name.

I said as much to her, asking her how am I supposed to interact with her school if she's dead-set against me interacting with her school? She flew into a rage, threatened to walk out the door, and told me our relationship would be 'over' if I ever breathed a word of this to her school. All sorts of nasty epithets & false accusations were flung my way.

Hmmm. It seems that just the simplest trigger causes her to threaten to walk out on me, because she knows it's my most sensitive area. It's very difficult for me to cope with. I get threatened with losing my children at least once a week and it's doing my head in.

Anyway, I sorted out the immediate problem by phoning her dad and getting him to call the school, excusing her from P.E. But that's not a long-term solution.

I know you're not asking for my advice, so totally ignore this if you don't want any. But, you are the parent, they are the kids. You are entitled to run things in a way that is convenient to you and then tell them to deal.

Have you read my short story The Eve of Triumph?

I have been watching a show where the characters are often really stupid and it's frustrating. The main character just did something extremely stupid that doesn't make any sense and goes against almost everything he wants. I think I give up on this show.
Also, I want to have a nap, but I'm afraid the maintenance guy will knock on the door. There's a leak in my ceiling and he told me he would fix it sometime this week and, since he's here all day almost everyday doing renovations downstairs, he could stop by at any time. And if I don't answer the door, he'll just let himself in. I don't like that aspect of renting.
I haven't been getting my mail. AGAIN.

Thanks Suzi. I wish it were that simple, but their father is the one who instigated all of this disrespect towards me so I have 3 of them ganging up against 1 of me. Oh, and then there's the in-laws as well, so make that 5 against 1. :(

Y'know, the funny thing is: the harder they all fight against my decision to transition by showing contempt for me and alienating me, the more determined I get to transition as quickly as possible. Their abusive behaviour is actually escalating the pace of events.

I felt the exact same way about that M. Night Shyamalan movie - "Signs" - in which a bunch of aliens, who just happened to find water as caustic as battery acid, had the intellect & technology to build an interstellar space ship to take them to Earth (where more than 70% of the surface is covered with water)... but they couldn't develop even the most rudimentary barrier to protect them from water.

Yeah, just dump that show. It ain't worth the hassle. ;)

Just got another job rejection. Whee. This time I found out why. Some of my references whom I thought I could trust have been sabotaging me by giving out bad references.

Yeah. Go me.

No offense, but WTH is a "maid cafe"?

I may be wrong about this, but I believe it to be a restaurant, diner, or cafe, in which the waitstaff cosplay as maids, housekeepers, and butlers.

The USA amazes me, you can't show a female breast on TV but you have cafes with staff dressing up in demeaning costume.

Heeee Heeeee

I think it is an imported practice from Japan.   Like eating raw fish.

Don't let it get to you! I had an interview once with a female HR person who was wearing some kind of vertically striped black and white sheath, she was a perfect body double for Mr. Potato head. I suppose that it was the look of amused incredulity that shot me down.  :D

Yeah, that's one thing. It's another when you have people you thought  you could trust to give you a good reference that ends up backstabbing you in the end. They're probably the reason why I didn't get the last three jobs I've applied for. At the very least this place I applied to let me see what their replies were so I would know exactly what they said. It's going to improve my chances in the future, but, man, does it sting.

I always believe that those types get theirs in the end, just leave the retribution up to the Bug Kahuna He/She does a better job of it in the long run.
