Work out your upper body, it'll make your chest and arms bigger, detracting from the look of wide hips. Also, vertical stripes make you look taller, and a defined 'belt line' helps too. Like, where your shirt meets your belt, tuck in a bit. It makes a clean break and adds to the illusion of height. I'm super tall but pretty skinny, so I rock the baggy pants with a 'muscle' shirt. It makes my upper half look broad and it hides the broad back end 😉 Works pretty well. Give it time, you'll find a style that works with the look you're going for and what falls well on ya.
