Everyone has one or two rubbish 'celebrity story' moments when they were given directions by someone from a half forgotten soap or something.

I thought we could try and out-top the naffness of each other's stories.

I'll start:  I once ate a fried breakfast at a table adjacent to Richard O'Brien in a cafe in Arundel.

Beat that.

I had to retrieve and hold on to Shelia E's spike heels once when she kicked them off during a set with her father.

Peggy Ashcroft got me drunk when I was seven. That was kind of naff, in retrospect.

Madonna made me hold her purse  :P  But I was working as a chauffeur at the time so I was expected to hold things like purses and such

Gonna keep this anonymous out of respect for the actor who is apparently closeted. I was at a New Year's Eve gay circuit party in L.A. This is basically one of those parties where everyone was on Ecstasy and just pays a high cover charge and drinks bottled water. Also everyone has their shirt off and is dancing and sweaty until 7am. It was still early. I was at the edge of the dance floor just standing there when a shirtless, chiseled guy comes up and stands right next to me. He had a hat and sunglasses on. Just from the look of his longish hair sticking out and his ripped body, I thought he looked like a certain actor who I was a big fan of. In fact, I had recently started a little online fan club page for him. I leaned over and said "Does anyone tell you you look like _________?" His face kind of went from cheerful to blank and he just shrugged and went out to the dance floor. That's when I actually got a good look at him and realized it WAS him. After a little while, he took his sunglasses off and it was very clear. I danced with him for a little while and he was very friendly and I tried to assure him I wouldn't tell anyone but he wouldn't say anything. Later another guy came up to me and said something about how his friend just wanted to relax or something like that.

It was wacky. So... yeah. The actor I was obsessed with (at the time) is totally gay but will probably never stick his head into a gay circuit party again.

Also, I don't know what naffest means.

I made the acquaintance of the artist who produced this work of genius:

I was forced to meet the Mavs man and the 1995 Dallas cowboys when I was a little un. Does that count?

Quite clearly, by recognizing the artistic genius, I am no Philistine.

Ooh, just remembered I delivered organic veg to Howard Jones a couple of years ago. His house (a converted canal pumping station) was bloody hard to get to - his son was dead cute though :).

When I was 13, Johnny Ball came to my school to teach us this thing called... Science.

When I was in boot camp at RAF Halton we did a sponsored walk. We finished it at a pub. Inside was David Jason, the voice of Danger Mouse, Count Duckula and the actor who plays the lead character in Frost.

And Del Boy of course.

The driver of the coach that took us to the castle today was in the channel 4 fly on the wall documentary 'The Family'.

I grew up with Dan Foutz as a neighbor and friend. I used to meet all sorts of people at his house. Mostly NFL players, but a few singers as well.
I used to work backstage at fashion shows, so I met a few super models as well.
Last, I used to work with a very high government official, I met a lot of celebs and government officials from around the world. It was quite fun.

It would take me far too long to make a list of all the people.

Out of college my first job was as an assistant production director for a three radio station group.  A classic rock station, a influential rock station, and a, for lack of a better term, women's station.  The women's station ran a syndicated show in the evenings that the program director absolutely hated, but they were locked into a contract.  What he would do is record the previous nights show and then have me edit out the types of things that he didn't like and then piece it back together for the next nights airing.  Turns out that this is illegal, but I did not get in trouble for it.  Anyway, it took about two hours to edit a show together and it was mind numbingly boring, both the show and the editing process so I kind of zoned out while I did it.  One day I was working and a voice form behind me say "hey buddy, how's it going".  Because I did not want to do this editing I was grumpy so I just waived my hand in the air and grumbled something without turning around.  Not to be deterred another voice says "hey there, what ya doin'."  Frustrated that someone is interrupting my crappy task, I wave my hand and say "I'm good" again, not turning around.  Finally, the first guy says "no really, how are you doing".  Well, they do not seem to want to go away and insist that I talk to them.  With angry face on I turn around and making sure that whoever it is will know that I am annoyed at the interruption.  Understand that not many famous people ever wandered the halls of the women's station, at least none that I really knew of.  So, I turn around and standing right behind me was Joe Perry and Steven Tyler of Aerosmith.  Needless, to say I apologized profusely for being so rude.  I told them what I was doing and they completely understood my attitude because they though it was a crap job to be doing as well.  Apparently I was the only person in all three stations that was not busy for them to talk to while they waited to do their interview on the rock station.  We hung out for about ten minutes just talking about whatever.  A pair of really nice guys.
