I'm no expert, but they look pretty good to me. Very feminine, and I think the size is about perfect for your build.
Aligning anything to the navel is a bit tricky, since it can be higher on some bodies and lower on others. In my people watching, I've observed that it seems the widest part of a woman's "hip curve" is usually even with the crotch, sometimes a little bit higher, so I'd say you're pretty close on placement. As for making you feel fat, they will do that. They should. Rest assured that they do not make you *look* fat at all, just curvy. (I actually like the "wide" feeling up to a point. It makes me feel attractive.) Be warned, you will probably find yourself accidentally bumping into things with your new hips until you get used to them.

You may also find that the pads have a slight feminizing effect on your posture and your walk. The increased width makes any sway in your gait just a little bit more obvious.
Hmm... the more I look, the more I think maybe they are just a tiny bit high in the "hand on hip" pose, although the other two poses look great. Maybe try them just a half-inch to an inch lower and see how they look in different poses.
Just my opinion.
