So I can get the 6th gen fossils in that cave? I need a Tyrunt...
I don't even care about breeding, egg moves, EV/IV, tiers, or any of that stuff. I'm just trying to fill up my Pokedex.

I am merely... a collector.
I can do trade/tradebacks if you need that.

That would be great! You wouldn't happen to have a Kadabra, would you? I don't think that they're in Y. There's so many guys who evolve by trading now, It's a bit hard to keep up. I still haven't caught a Phantump. I found one, but fainted it accidentally.

I recently got back into Pokemon and competitive battling using Showdown! but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy to play casually lol.
My favorites are Blissey, Jigglypuff, Munchlax, Vaporeon, Aegislash, and Jumpluff.

My favorite gen ever was definatly 2! Gold and silver has so much nostalgia, and even today looking back it had my favorite metagame. Yeah it was all stall, but you could beat the best stall team with careful planning and the right set up, and by that I mean Bellydrum Snorlax, ahem.

Although not as hardcore into the topic as quite a few of you, I still love pokemons and when I can, I play with the games on emu - I'm a lil' bit too young and too hungarian to have any GBs from my childhood.  :( Anyway, my favourites would be Flareon, Jigglypuff and Abra.

Gold and Silver were hugely challenging at the end where you have to fight Red...dang, now I think I am going to replay the games and try to have a kickass team.

Pokemon is awesome! I have played every single one of them!! Currently I am sort of playing Y even though I beat the Elite 4 already. In my opinion, this one has been the easiest game yet... :/ I am still trying to catch em all though. I would be willing to do some trades for version exclusive pokemon if anyone wants. :p

Also my favorite pokemon is rayquaza. I just keep transferring my lv 100 one to my newest versions after I beat them. That Rayquaza is awesome. He 1 mans the entire elite four! :D

I did have one, but I traded it for another Kadabra. I can breed one for you if you like.
I can also send you a Haunter, I'm working on that one right now.

I have one badge left to get in X, but I just took a break from my Kalos adventure to save Hyrule.
Sometimes I blog things

Of course I'm sane.  When trees start talking to me, I don't talk back.

it's funny how excited i was to see this topic, i knew i couldn't be the only person around who still loved Pokemon, after all the games keep coming out lol

Back when black/white came out i bought the game and borrowed my brothers 3DS, but i actually went out and bought one specifically for Pokemon X, and i didn't even know you could play dress-up in X/Y until i'd played it. a great surprise  ;D i just wish some of the classier items weren't so expensive.... but i suppose it's just Nintendo's way of preparing me for a future of high prices for pretty things...

anyway my Favourite is Mew... an adorable little legendary psychic kitten.... FEAR the fuzzy plushness!!!

Psst— Lemme show you my pokemans!

Just kidding. I haven't played Pokemon in years. I think the only one I actually finished was Blue, though I got through Gold about half-way through, back when I could only get a copy of the Japanese version. Thankfully I knew enough Japanese to know what was going on.

Hmm... Honestly I'm only familiar with 'em up to 2nd generation so it's hard to say. I always loved Abra. Mewtwo and Ditto are other favorites, for their abilities (Mewtwo being my favorite Super Smash Bros Melee character, too). Favorite "pet": Jolteon. Favorite fighter: Charizard. ...I never ended up getting an Umbrion but I always liked them. ...I almost wrote here Renamon, but that's a digimon.  ::)

(I think the weirdest one I've seen is Rotom, the refridgerator or whatever. What in the world...)

Ugh, AGAIN? It seems like we're having to save that place every other week.

It's pretty fun, isn't it? I beat it last week. That ending...

Mewtwo was my favorite 1st gen. pokemon haha! I was so depressed when I found out they took him out of super smash bros for brawl. D:

I need some help.
I've decided on finishing off all the available Pokémon games and I'm starting with FireRed.
I'm stuck on deciding how to build my team, any pros that could help me with it?
So, basically my starter will be Charmander. I'll want to have Alakazam no matter what. Other than these two, I'm open to suggestions. I've been thinking something like Charizard, Vileplume, Alakazam, Vaporeon or Cloyster, Jolteon or Raichu (so either Vaporeon and Raichu or Cloyster and Jolteon). One more slot is open, maybe Dugtrio, Dragonite or Haunter/Gengar?

Also, maybe some advice on how to build them and what moves to get? I don't really understand the EV-system to be honest  :icon_ashamed:

Thanks in advance  :-*

I just went through SoulSilver, HeartGold, Platinum, White, and White 2.

I don't think you need to worry too much about EVs or IVs. EVs can be changed but IVs cannot. It's nice to try and get a decent nature and IVs for the Pokémon you capture, but playing by yourself is easy so it's not required. Playing competitively they are really important, and it's recommend to get good IVs and a nature for legendary Pokémon.

I also don't think its that important to worry about who you want on your team when playing by yourself. I mean, if you're struggling then you'll just grind a few levels. I made my teams around the method of only using Pokémon from that generation and ones that looked cooler, for example, in Platinum I only used the third generation. And I also used Pokémon that were really effective against the Elite 4 and Champion, which I actually steam rolled through so it's not a must.

So to sum up, do whatever you want really.

I would take Cloyster, Jolteon, and Gengar as they're the ones I prefer out of your selection.

Thanks.  :-* I'm planning on going competitive once I finished a few games and got to know the later generations as I'm only familiar with the original Kanto pokemons - and by then I should be familiar with this EV-IV thingie as well.  :eusa_shifty:
As for back to the team, is it really that unimportant in single player? I hoped the late-game would prove challenging.  :-\ By the way I was going that way myself today when thinking about my team, so I think it will be Charizard, Alakazam (until I get a Mew  :icon_love:), Cloyster, Jolteon, Gengar and either Kabutops or Snorlax.

Ah, Pokémon. Basically my childhood summed up in one word lol. Sure I stopped collecting the TCG ever since the sets for the 5th generation came out but I still love me some Pokémons and I'm always excited for the new games!

I started with Pokémon Yellow and since then I've gone through Blue, Silver, Crystal, Sapphire, LeafGreen, Diamond, Platinum, SoulSilver, Black and I have White 2 but I have yet to play it. Oh, and of course I plan to get X and I've played Colosseum and XD and some other spin-off ones. So yeah, major Pokémon fanboy here who ain't getting tired of it anytime soon!

Oh, and when it comes to favorite Pokémons I do have quite a lot of favorites but my top favs have to be Absol, Articuno, Arceus, Suicune, Latias and Latios.

I love me some pokemans, y'all.

What're your favourites?  I'm a pretty big fan of Gengar, Absol, and Starmie!

Omg you're so cute with your baby Gengar ^__^

I always end up having Haunter and no friend to get my Gengar :'( But catching wild Mew with no cheat cartridge makes up for that as Mew is great :) Also a big fan of Zapdos!

My favorites are Lucario, Entei and Snorlax. Magikarp is pretty damn cool too.
