I haven't seen this discussed here yet, but Lana Wachowski was recently given an award by the Human Rights Campaign, and gave one of the most moving speeches I've ever heard by a transgender woman.

The video is worth the time (about 25 minutes, 30 with intro) because the transcript can't really do justice to the amount of grace and strength she projects.
