Jamison

Hey all,

Thought I'd introduce myself. I'm Jamison, and just started my T journey. I'm probably a little too much into working out and nutrition, but if anybody wants advice I'd be happy to help. I'm also currently living in Egypt and once I finish my Masters will be working abroad (most likely in the Middle East) so if any of you have tips for transitioning in a conservative muslim society, I'd appreciate it.

Til then,

Cheers.

Hi Jayboicurtis, :icon_wave:

Welcome to our little family. Over 9001 strong. That would be one heck of a family reunion.

Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams.  Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.

But remember we are family here, your family now. And it is always nice to have another brother.

And be sure to check out these links ( MUST READS )

Hi Ashley,

I'd suggest heading over to the Fenway Health Center in Boston. Many transguys go there for treatment as they specialize in the LGBT community. If you don't have insurance, they also have sliding scale services.

Hi Jamison,

A big Aussie welcome to Susan's family. It's good of you to drop in and say "Hi". Hope you like it here, and you stay for a while.

There is a mountain of information, resources and friendship waiting for you here, you just need to jump in start talking and ask any question you like. You're quite safe here and we are very accepting.

Congratulations on making the move. I'm sure you'll succeed at whatever you do. I'm a bit concerned for you, having to travel to the Middle East. I know MtF transexuals in Middle Eastern Muslin society have an extremely rough time of it. Does the same apply to you?

Looking forward to hearing more of your story in time to come, but in the meantime, be safe, well and happy.

Lotsa huggs
Catherine

There are a couple of things you can do to get yourself started. One check out the "Reference Library" link found on top of this page and find yourself a gender therapist in your area.

Two, find a GLBTIQ organisation in your local area and speak to them about what services they have available.

Looking forward to hearing more of your story in time to come, but in the meantime, be safe, well and happy.

Lotsa huggs

Hi Jamison, regarding transitioning in a muslim country: the laws are scary indeed. However, as another TGirl who recently transitioned in such a country told me, the life of men and women is so segregated (or binary if you will) that once you are seen as a man, you will be treated as one. So there is hope that your transition there, and life as a man thereafter, is feasible, despite the ideological red flags. Hugs, Beatrice
