Hey, my name is Alexander (but I am cool with Alex or Xander or Xan) I am 18 and I live in England.

I have been slowly coming out as male since I was 13, but have been taking transition rather slowly. I am incredibly phobic of doctors so I have had no medical intervention in my condition, but I am hoping to change this in the new year (a resolution of sorts). I moved away from home to University in September and have been living as full time as I can since then, but going home for Christmas will mean reverting to living as female for a week or so.

I have told my dad but he isn't ready to deal with it, another reason I postponed the doctors and legally changing my name, but I will try again a few days after Christmas and see where it goes.

I previously have had other online spaces that I used for support, information, discussions and talking to new people but due to a messy break up I can't use them anymore. Hopefully I can find some of the things I am missing here :)

Other than that I am a pretty standard 18 year old university student, I spend more time on internet forums than doing work, and more on recreation than books.

Hi Alexander, :icon_wave:

Welcome to our little family. Over 9237 strong. That would be one heck of a family reunion.

Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams.  Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.

But remember we are family here, your family now. And it is always nice to have another brother.

And be sure to check out these links ( MUST READS )

It does not take courage or bravery to change your gender.  It takes fear of living one more day in the wrong one.~me

Hi Alexander,

From one Alexander to another I would like to say welcome! I am new here myself and just getting to know my way around but it seems like a pretty cool place so far (:

Hi Alexander,

A big Aussie welcome to Susan's family. It's good of you to drop in and say "Hi". Hope you like it here, and you stay for a while.

There is a mountain of information, resources and friendship waiting for you here, you just need to jump in start talking and ask any question you like. You're quite safe here and we are very accepting.

It's not all bad having a healthy disrespect for doctors. Thens to keep them honest when you don't enter their space like Lamb to the Slaughter. The thing about the journey you have embarked on, is that it's yours. You can take a long as you like and it's not a problem. Just embrace and enjoy it

Looking forward to hearing more of your story in time to come, but in the meantime, be safe, well and happy.

Lotsa huggs
Catherine
