Just wondering why the world did not end according to the Mayan Calender? Do I have the date right? 12/12/12 ?

We couldn't be so lucky.

The world still has a ways to go.
Nameless here for evermore!;  Merely this, and nothing more;
Tis the wind and nothing more!;  Quoth the Raven, "Nevermore!!"

The Mayan calendar resets once and everybody freaks out...  our calendars reset once a year and nobody panics!

They should have a free pair of shoes day event for 12/21/12 then , that would cause the end of the world!

Well, supposedly it should have ended 7 months ago since supposedly the Mayan calendar doesn't take the leap year into consideration [something that only came about with the Gregorian calendar].  Plus NASA has a neat article on why the world isn't going to end on the 21st.  From what I can see, it's just a reset of a calendar and the supposed dawning of a new age.

[And it had better not end as my birthday is the next day.]

Question?  Does it mean the end of the world as we know it when our calender ends?

No.  And nether shall it when the Mayan Calender ends.  It is just the end of another calender.

It does not take courage or bravery to change your gender.  It takes fear of living one more day in the wrong one.~me

Question: What's the longest you've ever left a calendar up on the wall?

What's a calender?  :laugh: I never use those things.

Anywho, if the world ends, I'll go out with a joke. As the fires spread on that fateful Friday night, the first thing I would say would be, "Oh crap, I forgot to get down!"  :laugh:

The one in my room at my parent's house still says October 2006.

I only just recently started using an on-the-wall calendar a few months ago, so...two? Three months?

I am so sad 12-12-12 is coming to an end. (Can't say it was that great a day though). Such a cool number. The nerd in me loves this sort of stuff.
