Their cries and pleas to be treated with respect and dignity keep falling on deaf ears. The transsexuals in Malaysia are truly children of the lesser God, to put it bluntly.
They say the government is indifferent towards them. The existence of transsexuals or mak nyah as they are known here seems to be of no significance to the government.
Indeed it is an irony that for a caring nation like Malaysia, it has yet to show empathy towards the mak nyah.
